Backstage during Solstice stands the No. 1 Contender for the Diamond Title, Alundra Jade. A look of focus was on her face, and rightfully so. Tonight would be the biggest match of her XWA tenure, a match for the grandest prize in women's wrestling today. A match that she'd earned through blood, sweat and effort. As the camera pans in slowly, Alundra speaks to the masses, as well as to the champion Channelle.
Tonight we see a culmination of sacrifice. A culmination of will, determination and grit in the middle of the ring. Just a little over a month ago at Independence Day, I stood in the ring with five of the best female wrestlers this industry had to offer. And I managed to prove I was as good as all of them. How so? Because in the end I was never beat by any of them. Which is where this whole tale began. A tale that's seen me and the champion Channelle draw even stevens once again of the course of the last two weeks. Her, defeating me soundly in a Fight To The Finish match, and then me out wrestling her in a Pure Rules match. So once again, the stage is set, and the playing field is level. Because as per our lil' wager, since neither of us got two in a row, tonight's match is as balance as it gets. A regular singles contest.
And I know that might not be all that thrilling as far as ratings goes, but that's debatable. Because tonight, we see the championship pedigree of Channelle tested. We see tonight is she's as good as advertised, or not worth her hype. One on one, on center stage, either two things will happen in that ring. Either Channelle defeats me, finally silencing all of her critics, or I defeat Channelle, and the anti-Channelle firestorm really kicks off. But I'll say this much, Channelle. You've opened my eyes to what kind of competitor you are. Beyond the flash, and glitz and glamor. But it all comes down to this. One match. One fall. Everything you've attained thus far as Diamond Champion will come down to a mere three seconds tonight. I hope you're ready for it, Because I must certainly am.
With her confidence and experience shinning through with every word, Alundra was poised for an epic showdown versus the younger but no less talented Channelle. The camera fades to black, and Solstice rolls on into it's next segment.
