As Glitter continued on, Toni Phillups appeared backstage in the office area of the Diamond Division Commissioner Sarah Warfield.
Toni: I'm here with the commissioner Sarah Warfield, and Sarah...you have an announcement to make concerning the Diamond Title this month, correct?
That I do, and it's an announcement that's been eagerly anticipated since the Diamond American Classic match. As you all know, it was Alundra Jade and Channelle who made it to the final stage of the match, and time expired before a winner could be declared. First off, as much as it pains me to say it...since the champion was not actually defeated in the match, she...in this case Channelle...retains the Diamond Championship indefinitely, so that should clear up any confusion there first and foremost.
Toni: Got it. So Channelle is still recognized as the champion after all...
Yes, but since she didn't win the match herself, it does NOT count as a title defense either. She simply retains the championship, nothing more, nothing less. That brings me to the second part of this announcement. See, going by the regulations, over the TAC match, all the viable contenders to the Diamond Title were eliminated, all but one.
Toni: You mean Alundra Jade.
Indeed...so it only makes sense given that fact, and given the fact that she wasn't beaten herself, that I officially announce her as the #1 contender for the Diamond Title. That means that at Solstice later this month, she will face Channelle one on one for the belt. I'll leave to them to figure out how they plan on taking care of business.
Toni: Well, that's some huge news there! Alundra is a pretty decorated wrestler in her own right after all.
Correct Toni, and she has the chance to be the first non "homegrown" talent on roster to win a Platinum championship, which would be a milestone in and of itself. Now that leads me into talking about the Solstice PPV itself as well. That will be the home to the first ever Summer Solstice Match-where at stake will be the second spot alongside Marisol Cardinale in the "Diamond's Conflict" Main Event at XGAMES2.
Toni: With all the buzz going around, I almost forgot about that Sarah!
Well, the stips are still being worked out as we speak, but one thing is for sure...at this point and time I'm looking for six able-bodied, strong willed and fired up Diamonds who want to be a part of wrestling history as only the XWA can make!
If you all remember how things went at Mayday, then you pretty much get the idea here. I'm going to be watching and looking out for the best of the best this month, and those will be the ones picked for this match, pretty cut and dry.
Toni: Looks like the month of August is going to be pretty hot in the Diamond Division, isn't it?
Yeah, it's ironic...don't you think?
Toni: Like rain on your wedding day...
Or a free ride when you've already paid!
Toni: Or good advice that you just can't take...
And would've thought it figures? ;D
Toni: OK...before we get sued for royalties, let's get back to ringside. Thank you for your time Sarah.
END
