A short while after his match with Scott O'Dell. Fabiola catches up with Brandon Payne. Who unfortunatly yet again, fell victim to the quote unquote "Mr. Franchise". Brandon was beaten down and sore after the bout. However, that didn't stop him from conducting this little interview.
Fabiola: Mr. Payne, I would like to get your thoughts on your loss tonight with Scott O'Dell.
Well Fabby, mind if I call you Fabby ? It was another tough loss. I'm not going to stand here and make up an excuse. Fact of the matter is, the better man won tonight. To me, this situation between myself & O'Dell isn't truly over. However, I think its time we go our seperate paths. But, I am hoping for another rematch with him later on down the line. Hopefully, he'll have 'the strap' back around his waist when I do finally beat him. But be that as it may. I'm looking to do bigger and better things within' the next couple of months.
Fabiola: Any plans in particular ?
Well, I'm looking at other outside projects. I have my House of Payne wrestling school running full steam ahead in Manhattan, NY. We recently relocated over there from LA. I've got many promising students who will be graduating from there soon. And who knows, maybe you'll see some of those stars here in XWA in the future or in other federations.
For here, I honestly don't know. My goal has, and always will be to be the World Heavyweight Champion in XWA. I've gotten a little sidetracked from that here as of late with my battles with Scott O'Dell & Primo. With those two out of the way. I'm looking to go back to the 'drawing board' so to speak. I'm going to train and do whatever I can to get back into better shape. There's no doubt that I haven't been performing at my best as of late. Perhaps I'm starting to lose my edge ? Or I'm just not quite as dedicated as I used to be ? Even I don't know the answers Fabby. Hopefully, I can answer those in the next few months and get back on the winning track.
Fabiola: You seem to be enjoying yourself here in XWA. Despite your losses to O'Dell and everything. You seem to stay positive and keep your chin up through those rough times.
(laughs) Yes indeed. In those situations, when you take one loss after the other. Thats what you have to do, ya know. About a year ago during my 1st run here. I was a miserable wreck and wanted everything for myself. And, I learned quickly thats not the way to do business. I'd like to think that I've changed in that respect. I got alot left to give to pro wrestling and as long as my body will allow. I'll keep giving it my best here and hope that someday. My work will eventually pay off. I like to see all of these young talented guys and gals succeed. It really brings a smile to my face to see a bright young star pay his dues and earn his stripes. Such as our new World Champion has done here this evening, and guys like Van Hayden who is on his way up the ladder.
Fabiola: Changing subjects. Is there any truth to the rumors that you are dating fellow XWA superstar Lauren Blayze ?
HaHa, well yes and no really. Lets just put it this way. Were just really good friends. I'll just leave it at that.
Fabiola: Alright (laughs). So, what should we expect from Brandon Payne within' the next few weeks ?
Expect the unexpected. Wrestling is alot like life. Anything and everything can happen to you in a matter of a second. For me, I've always been one to just play with the cards that I'm dealt and go from there. So whatever plans the powers that be have in store for yours truly. I go for it. If not, I'm sure I'll find someone to amuse me in the next several weeks.
From there, BP leaves his position backstage and heads off to his locker room.
