Another go? (Sinclaire or anyone)

The scene at ID08 turns backstage now, where once again Sonya stands by with Toni Phillips for an interview.

Toni: Sonya, tonight it looks as if you're going to be playing manager for the team of Syrus and Samson, but the question now is...what about the Pearl Championship? Did you have plans on defending it tonight?

Of course I have plans to do that! The problem is well...a week ago at Glitter, Sinclaire came out here in a situation just like this and said that she was going to prove herself against me in a non-title match. As most of you who watched that match saw, it didn't go exactly the way that she intended, did it?

Toni: If I'm not mistaken, it took you just over four minutes to pin her, a Glitter record for fastest fall, maybe even an XWA record.

Well, I'm not going to be one to brag about something like that, we all have bad nights. The fact of the matter here though is this...I learned a lot about Sinclaire and her specific "style" in the ring, and to be honest with you...and not sounding like I'm bragging...if she faced me again, I have no doubt she'd probably do better than the last Glitter, but she still wouldn't beat me.

That doesn't mean that I wouldn't face her regardless though, but she hasn't exactly been heard from since Glitter now has she?

Toni: Well, nobody gotten any word from her yet, no.

I know that a loss like that can chip at the old pride and make you doubt yourself, or it can make you re-evaluate what you're doing wrong and come back better than before. Whatever the case my be for Sinclaire, if she wants a shot at the Pearl Title tonight, all she has to do is show. Otherwise this goes out to any other Diamond on roster who doesn't have business tonight. It doesn't matter who you are or how long you've been here, or even if we've faced each other before. I will be the proverbial "fighting champion" and take on all comers. Just like Sinclaire, all that you have to do is show.

And so they wait to see who does exactly that.

The one who shows (first at least) is Daphney! Like Sinclaire she was quickly dispatched in a title match versus Sonya weeks ago, and from the look on her face she wasn't a bit too pleased about it.

I bet you think you're hot shit right now don't you? Just because some of us aren't as "technically sound" as you are, you think that means that you're going to have it easy against people? Weh-heh-hell do I have some news for you, bitch! You can file me under the category of a person who has come back and learned from their mistakes and is better than before!

You know what my mistake was? Thinking that I could play up to the crowd and be one of those "showman" types. That match between us proved to me one shining point...THAT THE CROWD SUCKS!!!

If I'm gonna be anything in the XWA, then I'm gonna have to depend on one thing and one thing alone...these handy 'ol little fists 'o mine that right about now wanna pound that pretty little face of yours into GROUND BEEF!!!

You could almost see a vein popping out of her forehead.

So if you're willing to face anyone, then how about you face me for that title, and I'll be the one makin' YOU see red...that being your OWN red!!!

Whoa! Whoa! Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning I see. I'll agree with you on the fact that your "problem" also was how you were carrying yourself in the ring, but really Daphney, this sudden boost of aggression on putting down on the fans, do you really think that's going to help your cause any?

Both Sonya and Toni right had no clue what to make of this sudden change in attitude on Daphney's part...except in Sonya's case the knowledge that the girl was never all ripe in the melon from the get-go.

I have one question. When did you stop your RITALIN dosage!? I'm not even going to wonder why you're acting like this. If my beating you in like FIVE MINUTES pissed you off that much, then well, you're just going to have to live with that. If you think that you can do any better tonight, then in the words of some Cuban wrestler, or was is a half-black, half Samoan? Whatever...

She gave Daphney one last sneering glance, and then she was off.

Oh, it has already been brought, bitch!!!

Daph sneered right back at the champion as she walked off. Then turned her eyes to Toni, doing the slight "jump at you" move, that made her jump back a little before she stormed off the other way.

Toni: That was...random. Um, back to you at ringside...
