The New "Sensation" (Mari, then O2A)

The sound of Bonobo's "Pick Up" well...picks up over the speakers of MSG, and the crowd goes wild for the arrival of the incomparable Amber Gianni to the ID08 showcase. Stepping out looking like a million bucks once again, she's all smiles as she makes her way to the ring, blowing her kisses and high fiving fans on her way down the aisle towards the squared circle.

Rose: I heard straight from the source that Amber had a big announcement for the fans tonight. I guess that's why she's looking way more confident than she normally does...

Finally, she's inside the ring, and with a microphone in hand.

Now, you all know that I'm a Rhode Island girl, but it would be crazy not to say that this town has a special place in my heart. You know what they say...if you can make it here you can make it anywhere! There's been just as many failures who've tried to conquer this city as there has been successes over the years, and to say that I'm one of the biggest successes is an honor in itself.

Now, I'm out here to make a major announcement to the XWA. It seems as if the trend right now in the Diamond Division is to form up alliances...teams if you will. We've already seen Sumya and Leslie Lane form up one, same as Cosette Grace and Lauren Blayze, Helana Troy & Bull Nagano, The Dixon Sisters, Showtime and of course the Sapphire Champions The Diamond Devils...

...well...you can add one more team to that list. Over the last week or so, I had a talk with another lady about the prospect of a forming an alliance, because let's face it...there's strength in numbers if the numbers are reliable, and this woman is more than reliable in my book.

She like me is a huge success story. For the last year and a half she's paid her dues, and she's trained with some of the best in the history of female wrestling, as have I. She's stood tall in some monumental battles, most recently an Ironwoman match at Soul Survivor. I think that you can take a wild guess on who this lovely Latin lassie is, now can't you?

I'd like to bring her out here to the ring right now, to stand by my side and help me tell the rest of the Diamond Division what they've got coming to them, so Marisol Cardinale, come on down!

And on cue, Mari's theme song begins to play as all anticipate her arrival...

"La Tortura" plays, and Marisol steps out to similar fanfare as Amber did just minutes before.

Lucy: Well, I have to say that this is really a surprise, and a treat all the same. I would never have thought that these two would have decided to team up with each other. These two don't really need to be together. Amber is the most popular female competitor in wrestling today, and Mari...well, she's already in the main event at XGAMES2, The Diamond's Conflict. Both are coming off of wins leading up to tonight, but you know what? It's New York, it's Independence Day, and the XWA 2008 Season is halfway done, why not shake things up a bit?

Rose: Well, I just realized something myself right now. Amber as ever knows is the prized pupil of our own Diamond Commissioner and Hall of Famer Sarah Warfield. Marisol is the first student of Japanese wrestling legend and equal Hall Of Famer Tadako Anenokoji, two women who were at one point allies and rivals alike. Now, they're pupils stand in the same ring together. What a sight!

With a mic of her own, Mari first makes her way over to Amber and gives her a friendly hug. The fans are heard chanting both of their names in unison as she prepares to address them in that sultry Columbian accent of hers.

It is like Amber said, there is strength in numbers. That is something that more and more people have begun to realize it seems in the Diamond Division. She named a few names for starters...and they all have one thing in common, they're out to watch each other's back.

I know full well that sometimes it's hard to make the climb to the top on your own. Some are just better at it than others, and it would be safe to say that both Amber and I are more than capable of doing it by ourselves...but when you take two independent forces and put them together as one, you end up with something even greater than they could ever have been by themselves...

...and in our case, that something you can call THE SENSATIONALS!!!


Roach: Conflict Threat, The Superstars and now The Sensationals? That's like three new teams in one night!

Amber, you and I are riding high. We both have had successful wins in our last matches, but that's all in the past now. What it is that you've done up to now and what it is that I've done up to now are part of a passed chapter in the story of our careers. Starting tonight we begin a new chapter. I've known you casually for about a year now, and I have the utmost respect for you and all that you've done in this business. You proved that a woman can be sexy and be a serious competitor in this business as well, and I would like to say right now how much of an honor it is to be by your side tonight, and many more nights to come.

With a smile, she extends he hand toward her new partner to seal the deal.

[Amber Gianni]

Amber accepts the gesture and responds with compliments of her own.

It's just as much a pleasure me being here in this ring with you as you being here with me. You've transformed in only one year's time into one of the most intense competitors in all of wrestling, regardless of gender! I look at you and the things you've done and say to myself how can a down to earth girl like that be such a beats when the bell rings? It's like once it does, you become this "canvas assassin" or something.

We all saw the potential you had last year, the matches that you were that close to winning against some of the best in the business. Near wins versus Ashley and Heather aren't something to scoff at. Right now, I would be as bold as to say that if you stepped in the ring with either of them, the outcome would be a helluva lot different. I honestly don't know what it is that Tadako Anenokoji taught you for a little over a year, but it's working. I feel just a little safer standing here knowing that you're on my side.

And that brings us to the heart of the matter. Right now, we're a team who's got no opponents, and I know there are a few ladies backstage who don't have any engagements tonight, so...let's see who wants to have themselves a little fun. Girls? It's all you now.

And so, the wait begins. Who will come along to challenge yet another new team-up?

Hi there, Amber

That voice couldn't belong to anyone else, but XWA's resident British Playmate and erotic movie superstar, Kiss Wilmington. Kiss was in the stage, with a mic in hand and wearing her wrestling attire, this girl wanted to compete

I think that your prayers have been heard girl, as I have been sent here, exclusively to wrestle with you and Marisol. I remember it went like this, Miss Warfield called me and she said:

"Kissy we need you babe, Amber is on PPV and it's only 50% sexy, we need the other 50%, could you please wrestle her, so we get it so sexy that cameras will blow up?" ;D

crowd cheers as Kiss walks down the ramp

Don't think I have forgotten about our latest encounters Amber, you have stolen me so many photo opportunities I had to go back to England to have a bread loaf to bring to my mouth

But it was worth it

Kiss gets in the ring as she checks out both Amber and Mari

Wow isn't really exotic now? You have American beauty, South American beauty and British beauty in the ring! I feel like almost stripping... But then my wrestling conscience tells me, "Kissy this ain't no erotic movie, this is wrestling, and lately you haven't been wrestling that much"

So that's why I am here, to wrestle you and to give the Sensationals a Sensational defeat and get myself some retaliation ;D

Kiss winks at Amber

I know I am only one, but Sarah said, she assigned me a tag team partner, a lady who she hopes that I'll improve my win/lose record, than thanks to you Amber and thanks to many other Diamonds is almost the same as Kristin Hager

So well I think it's better for me to shut up and wait for my tag team partner.

But of course, that wasn't enough, the fans wanted something more, they wanted what made Kiss so great Kiss knowing it, does her trademark innocent smirk and rises the mic to her sexy lips as she says:

Massive cheer from the fans, as everyone awaits with expectation who has Sarah Warfield chosen for Kiss Wilmington.

Suddenly a theme that was anything but sexy irrupts in the scene, the waving New Zealand flag in the entrance video made everyone guess who was, nobody else but XWA's resident MMA fighter. Shirley Tyronne. As usual with Shirley, she makes her way to the ring, staring at her opponents without saying one word, she gets in the ring and smashes her fists, she then snatches the mic away from Kiss. And rare thing in her, she speaks.

What are you looking at Miss Brit Bunny? I am your assigned team mate

Lucy: We know that Shirley Tyronne so far has been nothing but Sumya's henchwoman, will that change tonight? Will the MMA veteran prove herself worth?

Rosie: What I have no idea, is why they are teaming Shirley with Kiss, it's like mixing oil with water, it will never become one!

Lucy: Maybe that way Kiss can learn something! Because honestly besides shaking her ass what does she bring to the business?

Rosie: Kiss is a TNB veteran Lucy, she wrestled brutal matches back there and has wrestled epic matches here in XWA; all what she lacks in my opinion, is knowing how to finish the match. Other than that, Kiss is pretty much like Amber, a beauty who can wrestle who has had the bad luck to team with someone, not so beauty...

Lucy: Don't say that Shirley is ugly! She might not have big breasts or a cute face, but she has that sexiness only other woman can detect

Rosie: I think that with one Christina Dixon we have eno... OUCH!

Rosie's sharp tongue was punished by Lucy, as Shirley in the ring kept staring at her opponents, she rose the mic and spoke to Amber

I can't wait the moment to beat you up, it doesn't matter if Kiss does something in the ring, what is sure is that you two will be looking at the ceiling when the bell has rung. And you little Miss Bunny if you bother me, you'll be joining them into observing the ceiling, got that?

I don't care who trained you, I don't care about your credentials, your photo shoots, where do you come from... Nothing. Sumya made me waste a lot of time.

And as Kiss mentioned, I am here for retaliation aswell.

Shirley lowers the mic as she resumes to stare, she then takes a look at Kiss and grins, Shirley waits for an answer, silently.

An unlikely alliance to say the least made their presence known. Mari wasn't too particularly find of the overconfidence coming from them though.

Retaliation you say? Ans what exactly do you two have to retaliate about? You make this sound as if you've been wronged in some way of some kind, when the only ones that either of you should be upset with is yourselves.

I look at you two, and I'm more than familiar with your histories here in the XWA. From different worlds almost is where you are from, but you both are one and the same in that you treat this whole thing as something that it's not. For one Kiss, this is not an erotic movie, just like you said. It's not some photo shoot or a banquet dinner, and on the converse Shirley, this isn't some octagon or MMA match.

We are in a wrestling ring, and this is the Xtraordinary Wrestling Alliance, keyword WRESTLING! The both of you treat this as if it's something it's not, and that's the reason why you've been unsuccessful thus far, and yet you both come out here so confident that you're going to beat Amber and I?

The complete opposite is going to be what happens tonight. Not only will you lose, but I'm going to make sure that by the end of this night the two of you have some respect for where you are, and get yourselves focused like everyone else is in the Diamond Division or out the door to go do whatever it is that you want to do on your time.

So long as your here in this ring, you're on our time...and I for one don't like my time to be wasted.

The challenge had been answered, and now it was time to assess the opposition as only Amber could do.

What we've got here are two women who lately have made some not so productive decisions. First off, we have Shirley Tyronne. What else can be said that you haven't said yourself? Sumya did waste your time didn't she? That was you're bad decision right there, getting involved with a woman like that. What a difference a few months makes, doesn't it? Weren't you girls in The Dojo suppose to be taking over the Diamond Division? Now Sumya's starting over...Sinclaire's getting walloped in less than five minutes, and here you are teaming with Kiss against two women who're on paper leaps and bounds above either of you combined.

Then of course, we have you Kiss-Kiss...and your mistake is just as plainly obvious...the fact that you're still chasing the unattainable goal of being the British Amber Gianni. You still just don't understand that you can never get to where it is that I am, can't you? I mean, it's really starting to get old watching you prance around arena after arena the way that you do.

Do you honestly think it's as simple as that? Being sexy isn't saying you are...it's not even ACTING like you are, it's just plain being it. You either are or you're not...and I'm not saying that you aren't. What I am saying is that you're nowhere close to being as much of it as I am, and your mistake is thinking otherwise. It's just not going to happen, sweetie...and I think that it's time you come to terms with the fact that we aren't talking 50-50 here, more like 70-30...and in my favor.

I've been nice so far about it, but it's getting to the point where I'm going to have to do something that's going to shut you up forever...and I'm not sure how your pride is going to take that.

Shirley didn't liked hearing that, she stared deeply at Mari and said what she had to say

Save the speech for someone who cares. Just ring the damn bell.

Soft spoken, but Shirley felt that no more words were needed, Shirley went to her turnbuckle and started stretching. She then grabs Kiss by an arm and shoves her to the turnbuckle, with one hand Shirley grabs Kiss' neck

Now stay here, and bet your skinny butt that if we lose, there will be someone knocked out tonight, you!

the crowd didn't liked this bullying attitude Shirley had with Kiss, and they booed her, Shirley however didn't show the slightest care, as she shoved Kiss down to the mat

I'll start first!

Shirley grins as the crowd boos her for her actions, however Shirley again didn't seemed to be worried about it.

[kiss]

Kiss was afraid at the idea of being knocked out by Shirley, she was still on all fours as she grabbed the mic that Shirley threw. She brought it to her mouth, trembling

Oh come on Amber, I.. I.. wasn't talking seriously, I respect you, I am sorry you two took it that way, I don't want to steal your spotlight, I think that after so many matches we had together, you'd see something in me besides a competitor

And Mari I.. I know where I am, I respect where I am..

Shirley throws a killing stare at Kiss

How God, how I got myself into this...

Kiss was truly scared it seemed everyone was out to get her, and she had come with good intentions, she didn't intended to piss anyone off

I'm.. I'm sorry, er.. Shirley why don't we get ready for the match?

Kiss was still on all fours as Shirley ignored her.

[Amber Gianni]

Now now Kiss, I wasn't talking about doing anything physical...I only do that sort of thing in between the bells. What I meant was special little spectacle that would leave no doubt in anyone's mind including yours...and make them inscribe my name on the 2008 Hotbody Award right now. Doesn't look to me like Shirley here believes in keeping in the ring though.

She could only shake her head in disbelief at the aggression being shown by Tyronne on her own partner.

If you've got no respect for your own partner, what makes you think you stand a ghost of a chance against opponents who're on the same page, Shirley?

Mari on the other hand was growing more angered at the ex-MMA fighter's attitude.

You said that you don't care who it is that trained Amber and I? Well, let me tell you something that MY mentor told me...if you respect the sport, then the sport will respect you back. I think we see that you have no respect for anything, and that's why you've done nothing in the XWA yet, and you won't be starting tonight against us either. I could never set foot in a ring again if I lost to someone so pathetic.

So you think that shoving and acting like you don't give a crap about anything is going to make you a success? I bet you must also think that just relying on that MMA background of yours is going to shoot you all the way to the top as well too, huh?

I hope you enjoy standing out here acting all tough right now, because when they DO ring the bell, I'm going to like I said before make an example out of you. You might act like a lion, but I'm going to show these people here that you're nothing but a lamb!

Shirley meanwhile wasn't dazed by that speech

Well if you two are fearing for Kiss' own security, then there's something very easy you can do... Lay down

the crowd couldn't believe this, they started to boo Shirley louder

But since I know you two won't do it, don't cry when you see "Kissy" reduced to nothing after I am done with her.

And as far as doing nothing, I beat Kim Hunter, one of the Sapphire champs, and if this Brit twit doesn't screw up tonight, I plan becoming 2-0 on her.

Save this mentor bullshit for someone who gives a damn, ring the damn bell and let's see if you are half as good as you say.

Shirley banged her fists together as she got in a fighting stance

Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me...

Breaking up the increase in aggression levels, Amber points out something that Shirley must not have caught on to.

...sorry Shirl, but if you hadn't noticed, we're still in our street clothes here? I can understand if you're ready to "fight" and all, but like Marisol said, this is a wrestling ring and that's what we're going to be doing tonight, so you're just going to have to hold onto that testosterone that you must've injected into yourself before coming out here and wait just a little while longer to get schooled in the art of grappling, Sensational-style!!!

In the meantime, Mari and I will be backstage getting ready for tonight's festivities. Marisol? Let's go...

Amber was the first one out of the ring, and now it was Mari who was shaking her head.

Kiss, Amber said something about making bad decisions...well, I don't know which one tonight was bigger that you've made, coming out here to pick a fight with us or bringing this so-called "fighter" along with you. They could at least have set you up with a more polished partner because after tonight Shirley, you're going to be a memory in people's minds...and a brief one at that.

And she drops her microphone to follow Amber backstage.

Rose: This is certainly an strange situation we're in here right now. The Sensationals have their opponents, but will they even be able to coexist against each other tonight?
