The familiar theme of The New Wave hits the PA of MSG, and the New York crowd boos as Lionel Xander and Chris Cage step out from backstage. Neither man looked pleased, and with good reason from the results of the last Overload. They make their way down to the ring, and enter...Cage sliding in, X via the ring steps. They call for a pair of mics, and it would be X to kick things off.
Jimmy Ames. Everyone knows you're a proud Texan, but you also have to be one proud Irishman. Because you beating Cage last week in Albany was DUMB LUCK!!!
The fans boo even more.
Maybeyou are that good. Or maybe you're just a lucky bastard. Whatever the case is, tonight...we're gonna prove it. We're laying out a challenge. The New Wave, against Jimmy Ames and Etha...oh wait. That's riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight...Bain's gonna be in tonight's main event. So It looks like your runnin' buddy isn't gonna be available for you tonight, doesn't it? Not that it makes any damn difference. Last time, we kicked your ass, so I don't see reason why we can't do it again. So here's the deal. You find whatever sap ass sonafabitch backstage stupid enough to team with you tonight, and we'll be happy to make an example out of the two of you.
With the challenge laid out, they wait for the response of Jimmy Ames.

It didn't take long for Jimmy's music to cue up. The fans come to their feet as Jimmy steps out into the arena. With a mic of his own, he answers the call.
You know, it takes a real special breed of guy to come out and talk trash after getting his ass kicked, or seeing his boy get his ass kicked. I was in the ring too last week. And from what I saw, I beat Cage's ass from bow to stern. Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut...I could be mistaken. That was then, this is now. And now, you two have challenge me to another match. A Tag Team match. This puts me in a bind. Because as you so dutifully stated, Lionel...my pal Ethan Bain is predisposed tonight. So who could I possible call on as a partner? Who in this company could I get to join me in the fun and good times of kicking some Canadian ass tonight? I wonder...Maybe? Naaaaaaaaaaaaah...he's got funny looking hair. Or maybe I could get...Naaaaaaaaaaaah...he's a horrible dresser. Hmm...who could I possibly find?
Jimmy stands at the stage thinking for a few moments.
Gimme a sec...
Jimmy leaves the stage and heads to the back. Xander, Cage and the MSG fans were left to wonder what kind of antics Jimmy was up to this time. After a good 40 seconds of waiting, Jimmy steps back out unto the stage.
I found someone. And heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere he is!!!
Doing his best Vanna White impersonation, he "presents" who his partner would be for the night...

The opening of Collie Buddz "Come Around" hits the PA, and the roof of MSG damn near explodes as "The King Of New York" steps out from backstage.
Buzz: JAYSON JONES!!! JAYSON JONES!!!
Roach: The KING is home, ladies and gents. WOW!!! What a blockbuster by Jimmy!!!
Jay-J had a mic of his own. He address the crowd, as well as Xander and Cage.
C'mon now. You damn well know you couldn't have a show in NYC without New York's Finest bein' in the buildin'.
The crowd roars in approval of the hometown hero.
So I was chillin' backstage, drinkin' me a Carona. And Jimmy comes up to me and says, "Hey Jay-J, how'd you like to kick a pair of Canadian asses tonight?" Who am I to refuse such an invite, eh? N...not that I have a problem with you two bein' Canadian. No no, I've got a few close friends that are Canadian. It's just that in my experience with Canadians in this business, they're all...pretty much like the two of you.
Mouth...on...MIGHTY.
Jay-J smirks.
So you want a tag team match tonight? Ask and ye' shall receive...a good ol' fashion New York style ASS WHOOPIN' wit' all the trimmings.
The crowd waits in anticipation for the response of either Xander or Cage.

Well, Jimmy. I can at least say that you went big. Damn shame it wasn't big enough. You think bringing Jayson Jones out here is supposed to change anything? HAAAAAAAAA!!! The most you did was pick a partner who's gotta deal with the consequences of getting his ass kicked...by CANADIANS...in his hometown. You don't intimidate us, Jones. Hell, you don't even impress us. You're nothing. You parade around like you're some hot shot. You might have been a couple years ago, but these days? You're behind the curve. And me and X here get to show you and "Hill Billy Jimmy" exactly why.

What my friend here is basically saying is that no matter what kinda star power you think you have, your star isn't as big as ours. We're The NEW WAVE. We're state of the art while the rest of the industry is just E-Waste. You made a big mistake gettin' involved in this, Jones. A BIG mistake.

Round these parts, "New Wave" is Garry Newman. You know..."Here in my car...I feel safest of all...Duh-duuuh-duh-duh".
The crowd gets a chuckle out of the Garry Newman reference.
And that right there is what I mean. Big talk. So many guys 'round here do it. So many guys 'round this biz does it. But if you fellas ain't done ya' research, I ain't one of 'em. I let my actions do my talkin'. I let my FISTS do my talkin'. And tonight, talk is CHEAP, fellas. In other words, don't talk about it...BE about it.

Jimmy raises his mic for his final response.
I like how that sounds, Jay-J. Can't really say it any clearer then that aside from we'll see if you boy's actions tonight speak louder then your words.
Jimmy lowers his mic, and his music hits the PA once again. The scene ends with the four men staring each other down before it goes into the next segment of Independence Day 2008.
