We open Independence Day 2008 with A Perfect Insanity by Disturbed playing. Brandon Payne, who had a solid matchup last week with Primo on Overload is looking to bounce back with a huge win tonight over his current nemesis Scott O'Dell. Payne comes out, looking cocky & confident as ever. Seemingly, not letting what happened last week between him & Primo get to him. Tonight was all he was concerned about.

Payne walks down the rampway and enters the ring. With a microphone already in hand. He motions for the music to cut off. As he's looking to get down to business.

Fans react with a chorus of boo's.

Ah, I can see you fans are as excited as ever to see me, live and in living color. I don't blame you really. I mean, just look at me. I'm the greatest thing since slice bread baby !

More boo's begin to ensue. Fans are beginning to get a little tired of BP's 'I'm better then you' attitude.

See, I knew you guys loved me. But what can I say. I am a living legend. There is no denying that fact. Nothing is going to get me down tonight. Not even you idiots. Fact is this, Primo came off very lucky last week in his win over me. I'll give him credit. He did beat me fair and square. But as always, I'll live to fight another day.

Which brings me to tonight. O'Dell, I believe the last time we faced each other in our little tag match. It was your team coming out the losers. And how ironic, because that is exactly whats going to go down here this evening.

I'm going to tear you limb from limb until there is nothing left of you Scottie.

Brag all you want. Let that little ego of yours override everything else that you stand for as usual. Because if thats how you want to play it, then we can damn sure play the 'ego trip' game. Because quite frankly, I'm the master at that. Just like I am at wrestling in general .

Roach: Cocky arrogant son of a ...

BuZZ: Hey Hey ! Easy there Roach.

Roach: Its just that BP has a way of getting under everybodies skin. No matter if he wins or loses. He always comes out here each week like he has achieved something. Like he took the 'high road'.

BuZZ: Well of course he takes the high road. Are you stupid ! He's the Wrestling Elite. He doesn't need the fans. He doesn't need help from any of his fellow superstars. He said it himself. He's done everything on his own. Tonight is no different. I am confident that he will give O'Dell everything he's got and beat him.

Roach: Well, I'm not a huge fan of O'Dell either. But, for once. I hope O'Dell finally shuts him up once and for all.

O'Dell, I'll admit. Your good... no... your damn good at what you do. But in the end. Your just not me.. sorry, but dominating one promotion over what I have dominated during my time. Which is the wrestling world. Doesn't change the fact that I am still that much better then you....PERIOD !

Fans start to boo once more.

I don't give a damn if they call you a Franchise. An Anti-Christ. The top dog of XWA. None of that matters to me. Its one thing to respect what one has accomplished. But it is quite another to come out here and desecrate it ! And thats exactly what I plan on doing tonight O'Dell.Tonight, I plan on pissing on everything you stand for. I'm going to beat you into oblivion.

The biggest mistake you've ever made was crossing the line and stepping into my crosshairs. You took a path back last May that you will not return from. I don't care what the odds are. If you 3-1 against me, 5-1, 10-1, none of that crap matters. Fact is, just be thankful that I'm allowing you to be in my league for just one night.

I've made many superstars in this great sport of ours. And at that same time, I've BROKEN them all... one by one.

One thing I am also about Scott. Is I am a man of my word. So why don't you come out here and face me for perhaps one last time. And as I said a couple of weeks ago. I'm giving you the freedom to choose whatever match type you want. I don't care if its a Singles, Cage, TLC, Buried Alive, First Blood, Hardcore, it doesn't make a difference. The ending will always be the same...

And that is BP taking you down in three !

Before BP could finish up. He is interrupted by O'Dell's theme music.

Scott steps onto the stage, and leers down to the ring at Brandon. With his signature smirk, Scott makes the walk down to the ring. As he climbs the ring steps, he's handed a mic. Pausing on the apron, he gives another snide look to Brandon and enters the ring. He raises his mic for his reply.

Who says lightning doesn't strike twice in the same place, eh? It seems like...just a month ago we were doing this. Wait...it was just a month ago, wasn't it? Soul Survivor. You came out here, just like tonight. And did what you usually do, run your mouth without so much as saying even one meaningful or even coherent thing. I came out here and pretty much punk'd you. You tried you damndest to return the favor, failed, gave me my choice of match, and then later that night I came out and proceeded to kick your ass. Sounds about right to me.

A mixed reaction from the crowd gives way to Scott's next comment.

But since we're talking history, let's delve a lil' deeper. You just said that I've dominated over one promotion compared to you dominating over several. But here's the kicker. What one of those promotions are you no solely employed in, hmm? I do believe I arrest my case. The only one that matters. You see, I'm not just called "The Franchise" for my health, or my sunny disposition. When this place opened up shop, I was the 1st man scouted. And just like XWA as a whole, I represent this company more then anyone on roster. Because just like XWA, everyone pegged me to be just another mouth. Everyone said that I was just another trash talking, self-righteous asshole. And everyone wanted to see my downfall. But instead of falling, I changed the rules of the game to the point where even now guys like you, and so many others are still playing catch up. And sadly, ya' never will. Because unlike you, I don't play a badass on TV. Scott O'Dell is Scott O'Dell...24/7. What you see in this ring, is what I am. And that's why I've dominated in this company.

When word reached out months and month and months ago that I might land in Detroit along with another certain XWA superstar, you know what did? The pissed their pants. Because they knew that they'd never be able to tame me. They know that I'd make there "Established Superstars" look like idiots. The reason why you don't, and won't see me anywhere else is simple. Because everywhere else fears The Franchise. Will they ever admit it? Hell no. Because like you they've got to much foolish pride to say anything aside from the truth. But anyone with a brain in their heads knows what that truth is.

Scott pauses, smirks, and continues.

And while we're at it, let's go into that "In your league" thing. Thanks, really. But I'll pass. Because my league I think is a lil' more high profile then yours. You see, while you may be comparable to the Boston Red Sox, a proven powerhouse. I'm the New York Yankees. My rep speaks for itself.

O'Dell gets a rare pop from the New York crowd.

And in this building? The World's Most Famous Arena. The Mecca of sporting events. This is where it all started. This building, in this ring...Night Of Champions. The night I became the 1st XWA World Champ. Yea, this may not be Los Angeles, but MSG is home court for Scott O'Dell. And low and behold, I actually have an entire arean of fans wanting me to kick your ass. That's gotta be a new career low for ya', Brandon. But as much as these people hate you, they hate me just the same. New Yorkers like winners though. Doesn't matter how much of an ass you are. So long as you're a winner, these people give you respect. So I guess we know who these New Yorkers think is a winner, and who they think is a loser, eh?

The crowd now explodes in cheer as the entire arena was now fully on the side of O'Dell.

Buzz: Mike. I think I can die a happy man. I never...EEEEEEEEEVER...thought I would see an arena cheer for Scott O'Dell, let alone Madison Square Garden. We need to mark this on a calender or something.

It's two different things to play a badass, and to be a badass. You? It's an act. Once the pads and boots come off, ya' go on back to your hotel, spend a lil' time with the wife, go out and have a drink, and get ready to travel to the next show. Me? I party with the big wigs. Roll in Bentley Limos. Fly my personal Lier Jet from city to city. I do it big. And tonight, I do it again. What you ask? Beat...you. My boys Alston and Tryton are competing in a No DQ Tornado match tonight. I figure I'll show some team spirit and do the same. You and me tonight? We're gonna toss that old rule book out of the window. No DQ. No Ropebreaks. No count outs. Falls count anywhere in the borough of Manhattan. After tonight, you may still have that foolish pride. And ya' may have something witty and insightful to say in hindsight. But there's one thing you won't have. An excuse as to why Scott O'Dell beat your ass in Madison Square Garden.

Scott grins as the fans cheer him on. A thunderous "He's The Franchise" chant booms from the stands. He lowers his mic and waits for Brandon's reply.
