As Ill Nino's "Fallen" begins to play, out to the stage steps Pollox Troy. He had a surprisingly satisfied look on his face as he made his way down to the ring. He pauses at the foot of the ring and looks around to the fans before inching over to the ring steps. He grabs the mic supplied and climbs the steps into the ring. Inside, he looks around to the crowd once again before raising his mic to speak.
Let me start by saying this. Last week, I saw something I didn't think I'd see. A man dig deep after getting his ass handed to him, to pull off probably the biggest upset of his career. And yes, Sylas. You beating me was an upset. But I'm a fair man. I'm not to proud to say when I've been beat. And you beat me. So congratulations. Enjoy it. Because you know just as well as I do that luck seems to be firmly on your side. I only hope that luck lasts long enough to keep you out of the same ring as me. Because when next you and I meet, I promise you that it'll be a night you'll wish never happened.
With a devilish smirk, Pollox nods. He then continues.
Now, when I signed on the dotted line to be a part of XWA, I did it for a few reasons. XWA has some of the best talent in the business under it's employ. So called superstars who have taken this pro wrestling thing to new heights. And I wanted to see what all the hype is about. Now obviously I've been a bit predisposed since my arrival, but that doesn't mean I haven't kept my eye on what's gone on. I'm in the business of knowing who is at the top of their game. And there's a few people who fall into category. And that's why I'm out here tonight. To make an announcement for XWA's next PPV, Independence Day. What you ask? Simple. I'm calling my shot for an XWA Title.
As expected, the crowd reacts with baited anticipation.
What title you ask? Why the one that best suits me and my style of wrestling, the PURE title. Kayn's been on quite the role. He's undefeated since winning the title. He's easily one of the most dominant champions in not just XWA, but period. But the problem is that he's not been challenged. Take a look at all of the men he's beaten. Are they what you'd call worthy challengers? I think not. They've all been glory hogs looking to cash in on beating a man who's been on fire. Nothing more. Take the man who Kayn's to face on Takedown, this Emil Edwards. Did he not just get his ass handed to him by Van Hayden a few weeks ago? Title hungry glory hogs, as I said. I'm banking on Kayn going into MSG Pure Champ, because I at least want some kind of challenge in my title shot. And if it's a challenge you're looking for Kayn, then you'll get it in spades. Because I'm leaps and bounds better then any of the poor saps you've kicked the crap out of thus far. And if by some chance Edwards wins? Then he's going to go down as the shortest reigning champion in XWA history.
Pollox grins and then concludes.
So to the both of you, good luck at Takedown. Because at Independence Day live from The MECCA of Wrestling, one of you is going to deal with me. And to that man, there isn't enough luck in the world that'll save you from defeat at my hand.
Pollox drops his mic. As the crowd continues with it's mixed reaction, Pollox takes his leave of the ring. The challenge was put out. All that remained was finding out who would be the man he'd lock horns with in MSG.
The End.
