Sabastien sat alone in an elaborate office. It been a while since he'd heard anything of the menacing demon he sought out, the creature known as Draco. These days, Sabastien preferred solitude over his usual extravagant living. It served his mind set better being alone. He's suddenly paged over his intercom...
Mr. Gallas. We're ready to show you our progress, sir.
It's about time.
He rises from his seat. Making his way to the front door, he opens it to reveal this was more then an office. It was an equally elaborate complex. One of several he had throughout the world. He's quickly joined by who appeared to be a scientist.
Dr. Mandran. I trust you have good news for me.
Superb news in fact, sir. We've made a breakthrough in our research that will change the shape of the world dare I say.
Show me.
Within minutes, they arrive in the main research facility. Many other toiled away tirelessly around them as they walk towards the lab where this breakthrough was being set up for display. The two men input there access codes, as this section of the facility required the highest possible level of clearance. Once inside, Dr. Mandran's assistants prepare the presentation.
If you will, sir. Take a look at the screen ahead. The image you see is most common strand of DNA. It's the blue print of all life. As you can see, it's unaltered in any way, shape or form.
With the press of a button, a new display shows. One far more complexed.
What you see now, is a sample of DNA taken off of one of the soldier's killed in your skirmish in Long Island a few months ago. This sample belongs to Draco.
Sabastien steps forward, looking in awe at what he was seeing.
Incredible. There has to be a least 18 separate strands alone. Is that the source of his power?
Indeed. The human body is the most advanced piece of technology science has ever known. Even now, there are aspects about human geology science knows nothing about. But the key is in what data already lies in our DNA. Draco's DNA is unique in that it's not a single strand, but several woven together like sylk. His geology is beyond anything we can comprehend, because it's extremely complexed. What cause him to become what he is, is the reason he's literally unstoppable. Because he has such a unique molecular make up, his cells are able regenerate almost instantly. And look...
He isolates one strand.
This strand here. Take a look at what it's molecular composition matches.
The doctor brings up another display.
Fire?
Oh it gets deeper, sir. Every strand of his DNA shares compinents with just about every element on the periodical table, and afew we still can't identify. Draco Thanatos is literally human perfection. The result of something in the past, that evolved into...whatever the hell he is now. And he's not alone. My deduction is the same thing that for the most part melded with his genetic composition, did the same with Simon Fierhart. He's in the infant stages of the genetic events that gave birth to what we know as Draco Thanatos. They're living, breathing immortals, so to speak. Simon can be killed, as his genetics have not had the time to mature in the way that Draco's has. But Draco? From the sample gather, we estimate he's lived for over five thousand years. From his genome, we can tell that he is in fact of greek decent, but when he was born, we may never know.
So you've deciphered the puzzle of his genetics. The question is can you find a way to control it?
Unfortunately, that's impossible. We just don't have the scientific understanding of how this strand even exists. But what we have learned how to do, is SYNTHESIZE it. We can't control his, but we've found a way to well...alter one's DNA to be somewhat of a match. Like our previous experiment with genetic reanimation. We can do it now with living cells, in a living person. We've tested it on lab rats and monkeys so far, and their levels of awareness and over all senses continues to grow day by day. However, there's no real way of finding out what the limits are. We've found a way to speed up the process of human evolution. But we know not of what it's risks are.
But your certain that the procedure can be done to human cells now, correct?
W...well yes. Who's to tell what can happen? For all we know the subject may burst into flames or...it's blood may freeze to -1000 degrees. Or...
Use me as the test subject.
Shock comes across all those in the lab.
Bu...but sir. A man of your importance? Should we test the synthesis on a...uhm...less desirable candidate?
No. If what you say is correct, there's no way I'm going to allow some grunt the chance to become a god. That honor is mines, and mines alone. Do I not have the same genetic make up of the Immortals?
Well...yes. It's a genome that's laid dormant in your family's bloodline for centuries...but...who's to say it'll...
Your lack of faith is unsettling, Doctor. I thought as a man of science you'd jump at the chance to re-write human history.
Well...I...
Whatever needs to be done to prep the procedure...DO IT. It's about time I leveled the playing field between Fierhart, Draco and I. It'll be a welcomed surprise for both of them.
Mandran hurriedly orders his assistants to prepare the procedure. In just a moment's time, Sabastien Ignace Gallas would forever change the course of his destiny, and possible the destiny of billions. In just a moment's time, a new beast would be born. One that might be even more fearsome then Draco and Simon combined.
The End...for now.
