*Returning from a commercial break, Mike Roach’s voice is heard as an outdoor shot of the arena is shown.*
Mike: ”Welcome back to Takedown, coming to you live tonight from the sold out Thompson-Boling arena in Knoxville Tennessee. This is Mike Roach along with my broadcast partner Buzz Berman and I’ve got to say partner this show has been electric from the word go.”
Buzz: ”And it’s only going to get better Roach, I can feel it.”
*Just as Buzz finished his statement ‘Hammer Smashed Face’ played through the arena to the exploding cheers from the crowd.*
Buzz: ”But then again, I could be very wrong.”
*Kayn stepped out from behind the curtain to the thunderous ovation from the Tennessee crowd with the Pure title hanging over his shoulder and a smile on his face. Kayn stood on the stage area for a few moments and pointed out to the crowd that filled the arena to the hilt.*
Mike: ”Looks like the crowd is in for a treat tonight Buzz because here comes our Pure champion Kayn.”
Buzz: ”He’s not my Pure champ and I can’t understand why these people cheer for this guy.”
*Kayn began to make the long walk to the ring, giving high fives to the crowd members near the guardrail before climbing into the ring. He climbed up on the second turnbuckle before grabbing the Pure title from his shoulder and held it high over his head for the crowd to see.*
Buzz: ”What a suck up.”
*Kayn jumped down from the turnbuckle and was given a mic from the ring announcer. As his music faded Kayn raised his mic, however before he was able to speak the Tennessee crowd chanted for him which prompted him to take a quick bow to all of them before raising the mic again. This time he was able to speak.*
“Knoxville Tennessee, thank you so much for that ovation.” *which prompted them to cheer again* “You know, not to toot my own horn, but I’ve had an amazing streak going so far this season. I’m currently the longest running Pure champion with 7 successful defenses against men who are no slouches. Men like Mike Xavier, Blade Myers, Jared Saint, the list goes on and on, and there’s one thing about being the Pure champion that I really enjoy. That is the fact that just about anyone can challenge me for it. This gives me the opportunity to get in the ring with some of the up and coming stars as well as some of the future legends in this company. One thing though it rarely gives me the opportunity to do is to come out and mingle with the fans.”
*With that Kayn takes the Pure title from his shoulder and lays it on the mat. He then climbs out of the ring and starts walking around ringside with the mic.*
Mike: ”Oh boy, what’s Kayn going to do now?”
Buzz: ”Who cares, he’s eating up valuable air time. I’m sure Mr. Gallas is irate right now.”
*While Kayn is walking around the ring he starts to talk again.*
“See, being Pure champ, I’m usually answering challenge after challenge, which means that when I come out here, it's all business. So I thought tonight I would be proactive and come out here, before anyone has a chance to challenge me, so I can talk with some of you in the crowd. Is that ok with you all?”
*The crowd erupts as Kayn continues to wander about the ring, but then decides he’s going to go out into the crowd, so he jumps the guardrail and starts walking back through the crowd until he happens upon a younger fellow, about the age of 12 or so with a noticeable disability, wearing one of his t-shirts. Kayn stops for a moment and smiles. He then walks over to the lad and speaks to him.*
“Hey there buddy. Enjoying the show so far?”
*The young man is elated, he quickly replies to Kayn*
”I sure am!”
“That’s good, what’s you name kiddo?”
”Roger.”
“And Roger, who is your favorite XWA superstar?”
”YOU ARE!”
“Well thank you Roger. Is this the first XWA event you’ve been too?”
”Yes.”
*Kayn then takes a step back and looks next to Roger and sees a woman and a man with smiles on their faces.*
“Are these your parents?”
”Yes.”
“It’s nice to meet you both. *Kayn shakes Roger’s parent’s hands and then looks from where he’s standing and notices the ring is rather far away.* It’s kind of hard to see from here, isn’t it Roger?”
”Kind of.”
“Well you know what they say Roger, the first time always needs to be a memorable experience right? So I’ll tell you what I’m going to do, since I plan on being in action tonight, I want to make sure you don’t miss a minute of seeing your favorite wrestler. So how’s this sound, I’m going to have security escort you all backstage so you can watch the show from the back and after I’m finished with my match, you and I will hang out for the rest of the night and watch the rest of the show together in my locker room. Would that be something you’d be down with?”
*Roger’s eyes lit up, he then looked at his parents before answering.*
”That would be AWESOME!”
*The crowd cheered for Kayn’s generosity. He then waived security to come over.*
“Gentlemen, you heard the man. Escort these fine people back to my locker room.”
*Members of security escorted Roger and his parents backstage, but not before there were some handshakes and hugs. Kayn then started to make his way back to the ring area.*
Buzz: ”I’m ashamed to work in the same company as this guy.”
Roach: ”What are you talking about Buzz? That is one of the most random acts of kindness I’ve ever seen.”
Buzz: ”Exactly, he starts doing this kind of stuff all the time, then people are going to expect it more and more. It makes me ill.”
Roach: ”Would you stop Buzz.”
*By this time Kayn had made his way back to the ring and climbed in. He walked over to the Pure title and picks it up and puts it over his shoulder again. The crowd continues to cheer for Kayn as he raises his mic and begins to speak.*
“Now as I just said, I plan on being in action tonight and I don’t plan on disappointing my new friend Roger. So, this is an open challenge to anyone in the back who has not faced me for this title as of yet. Who’s going to be man enough to step up and try and take this title from me tonight?”
*Kayn lowers his mic as the crowd explodes.*
Mike: ”Kayn is ready for any challenger Buzz.”
Buzz: ”But this could backfire on him. Let’s see who his challenger is for tonight.”
*The crowd and the champ did have to wait long as another superstar’s music began to play over the PA system.*
