Fool me once (CHAD)

The theme of Cameron Marshall plays over the PA. The Atlanta fans show the young superstar some love with a boisterous cheer. He acknowledges them with a nod before starting his walk to the ring. As he does, the commentators give their insight on him.

Tony: Two times has Cameron tried to beat Chad Treadstone. And two times he's fallen short. Something tells me Cam's out here tonight for another go at it.

Willy: Ya' know what they say, 3rd time's the charm. But Chad's put it ON him those last two matches. I don't think Cam's got the chops, Tony.

Tony: Let's not count Cameron out yet, Willy. I know from watching this kid in other promotions. He tends to save his best performances for when they lights shine brightest.

Cameron enters the ring and calls for a mic.

You know, a normal guy would call it a day after having his ass basically handed to him two weeks in a row. But I'm not that kinda guy. Chad Treadstone? You're a tough son of a bitch. There's no question about it. You might just be the best Junior Heavyweight on the roster, dare I say on the planet. But last week, when you had me down 1-4 in our Fight To The Finish match, I just barely missed drawing even. If I just had a few more minutes, I would have roared right back. But it didn't go down like that. But where I come from, youdon't piss and moan about gettin' beat. You pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and get right back on the grind.

When I signed on with XWA, I set my goals high. Anything less then X-Gen champ is a cop out. And granted, I haven't had the best pf luck against you so far, but something tells me that tonight's gonna be my night. You know what that is, Chad? Because I've got that gut feeling. I've got that feeling in the bottom of my belly that's telling me tonight is the night I beat you. So tonight, I'm challengin' you to one more match. If anything else, I want another crack at beating you, fair and square.

Cameron lays out his challenge. He lowers his mic and waits for the response of Chad.

Chad's music hits the PA not to soon after Cam lays out his challenge. The fans cheer in anticipation for Chad's response. He wastes no time on the set, as he whips out a mic and replies.

It takes a Biiiggggggggggg man to come out and say another man's got your number. In fact, I think might be the 1st time I've actually seen it done in person. Kudos to you for not being the typical douchebag, not like some other people I know who would have reacted just a lillllllllllll bit differently. But you see, Cam. I'm not the best. Not by a long shot. And I won't be until I take care of a few other issues. Like Saizo Kodanashi. Like Pablo Reyes. Like Jimmy Ames. Nigel Sledge. Johnny Aces. Jonny Punch. Yea...I've gota long way to go. Because I don't just want to be X-Gen champion. No way. I want to at the end of the say I'm the BEST man in the division. And the only way that's gonna happen is by me beating ass on everyone else. Where I come from, you don't stop until you're king of the hill. And you ain't king until you've taken out all other men looking for the throne.

Chad nods as the crowd cheers him on.

Speaking of "Kings", that gave me an idea for our match, because I knew you'd be coming after me again tonight. Last week, you made the match. "Fight To The Finish". This week, I'm thinking of a nice little spin on another match. The King's Road match. Now normally, King's Road matches end via Tap-out or 10 count KO. There's no rope breaks, there's no ring outs. It's just mano e mano combat. Well tonight, I've concocted something a little different. Something more of our speed. The XTREME road match!

Willy: Xtreme Road? Tha' hell this boy talkin' about?

Theway it works is pretty simple. It's the same rules as a regular King's Road match. The difference is where King's Road matches stay in the ring, ours can go out of the ring. Or backstage. Or into the crowd. Or into the rafters, whatever. No limits. No restraints. ALL BALLS.

Cameron made the challenge. Chad raised the stakes. He awaits Cam's response.

It takes Cam all but a few seconds to com to a decision on the match. He raises his mic again for his retort.

Xtreme Road, eh? You know what? I like it. I like it a lot. You better believe I'm dead set on beating you tonight, but even if I don't you're gonna get your fill of Killa Cam once again. You've got your battle plan pretty much mapped out it seems. Well guess what? Bet your ass that you'll be running into me again when you've reached the top. Or when I've reached the top myself. So strike up the band, folks. We're goin' dancin' one more time. And I'm takin' the lead this time.

Cam's music hits the PA once more. He lowers his mic and grins confidently. Win or lose, Cam had every inetion of putting on another "golden" performance.

Chad shoots a smirk of his own before nodding agreeably. He turns and heads backstage to get ready for what was sure to be another 5 star match between him and Cameron.
