The entrance theme of Scott O'Dell hits the arena PA. As the perennial bad boy steps into the arena, he gets met with the typical reception. With his cocky, confident smirk, Scott makes the familiar walk down to the ring. Once inside, he's handed a mic and begins his address...
Tonight is the night I set things right. Tonight is the night that with the help of the XWA Tag Team Champions The Bruzas, I join Tommy Tryton in The Last Dance at XGames. But there's another matter at hand tonight I wanna address. That's the matter of Brandon Payne.
A mixed reaction emanates from Atlanta crowd.
Some of you love him, some of you hate him, but everyone in one way or another respects him and his contributions to this industry. And yes, I'll admit that even includes me. That's the reason why I'm out here. I know a guy like Brandon hates losing. And I know he hates it even more when he loses BADLY. Which was the case of the last weeks. Urks ya, doesn't it Brandon? The fact that as much as you consider yourself "Wrestling's Elite" you've failed in two tries to best The Franchise. I hate to be the one to break it to ya, but you're just not on the level, my man. It must really get old hearing this from me every time I take on one of you loud mouth wanna-be big timers, but when I say "As good as you are, I'm that much better", it's not just a witty catch phrase. It's GOSPEL. Cuz I come out to this ring, and I out perform the next guy 85% of the time. That's just the way it is. I might be a whole bunch of things. A jerk. A pompous asshole. A glory hog. But I'm also a collegiate All American Linebacker AND Greco-Roman Wrestler at USC. A California State Wrestling Champion. An NCAA National Champion. Oh yea, and of course a two time XWA World Champion.
I've been a winner on ALL levels since I was 16. It's what I do. There's this saying that goes a little something like this "Greatness isn't taught." Wayne Gretzky wasn't taught how to be the best Hockey player ever. Micheal Jordan wasn't taught how to be the greatest Basketball player ever. Barry Sanders wasn't taught how to be the best Running Back. Lawrence Taylor, Wilt Chamberlian, Tiger Woods, Muhammad Ali...all men regarded the greatest at what they did. And none of them were "made". They went out and made themselves. Just...like...me. And the results? They speak for themselves. So tonight, Brandon. I'm gonna be a fair man. I'm gonna give you one more crack at it. One more shot to put your money where your mouth is. Hell, I'm even gonna give YOU the chance to pick what the match is tonight. Because we all know in a fair fight you can't beat me. So go ahead, Brandon. Be creative. Pick a match that you know you'll have some kind of advantage in. And make it snappy, eh? Time is money, and so is The Franchise.
Lowering his mic, Scott awaits the arrival of Brandon Payne.

Well, Well, Well.. look what we have here ladies and gentleman...
Brandon Payne comes out from behind the curtains. No music or anything. Mic in hand, already flapping his gums lol. He had much to say here this evening.
Scottie... there you are standing here. Running your mouth, saying the same old song & dance about how you are so much better then everybody on god's green earth. Putting everyone to sleep. Making them feel nausious. Everybody is now thinking "Why did we pay to see this guy ? He sucks !".
Thankfully, for them. I come out here like a knight and shining armor. To rid the world of assholes like you.
Mixed reaction from the crowd insues. Brandon may have lost the last couple of bouts with O'Dell. But his ego certainly wasn't hurt.
Brandon Payne hates losing huh ? Well, its nice to see that you seem to know me oh so well Scott. Because, maybe back in the day... a couple of years ago. Perhaps I would say that you are right.
However, in the present. That couldn't be no further from the truth. Sure, I'll admit. It does suck losing to a pompous ass like you. But, on the other hand. Its just more motivation for me to come out here and fight you each and every week.
See, I enjoy taking out pricks like you. Ones that are on, my level. Stand there and say that I, Brandon Payne, isn't even close on the radar of being on your 'stage' of the game. But... I'd have to really argue that you are nowhere even near mine.
My level, is far beyond anything you could ever imagine. You've had great success on a national basis here in XWA. Me ? I've had success in pro wrestling on a worldwide basis. Thats the big difference between me and you. What you have done here in XWA is quite remarkable. I'll admit. But what have you done in other area's ? Nothing.
See, I could've easily been like you. I could've stayed in one place a few years ago and never gone out and competed in the other leagues. But I didn't want to do that.. not quite yet anyways. Fast forward to the here and now. I've conquered all the other leagues. Won championships left and right. Beaten the so called 'best' in the industry.
Now... here I am. In the XWA, on my quest to repeat what has been already written elsewhere.
So stand there, flap your gums about how much better you are then me, everyone else, and god. But lets face facts. Your not the Wrestling Elite buddy boy... I am !
Crowd erupts into a thunderous roar.
The one thing you have done in the last couple of weeks before, is bring a smile to my face. All I gotta say is after watching the tape of our last two battles. If THAT is all you can give me. Then I am very much disappointed in you.
Yeah... I'll admit. I was holding back alot in our matches. I could've easily turned up the volume and taken you apart one piece at a time.
However...
I know how that big ego of yours works. I figure, lets give this guy something to brag about for a few weeks. Then come pay-per-view time. I go all out and beat you once and for all.
From there... I move on to bigger and better things. World Title Shot ? Maybe... maybe not. Thats not my decision in the end. But wherever I end up in the next few weeks. I will play the cards that are dealt my way and deal with it.
Until the day I reach my destiny of becoming the World Heavyweight Champion. Thats not a promise... not a guarantee.... but a phrophecy that will be reached in due time.
As for our match. I could really care less what we compete in. But since you have been oh so kind to give me the opportunity of choosing the stipulations. If there is anything I would like to do is mangle that face of yours into some cold, hard steel...
So with that said, I say we lower the cage up above us and fight it out.
BuZZ: This should be interesting to see. Scott O'Dell versus Brandon Payne in a Steel Cage Match.
So, are you game 'Franchise' ?
hehehe... I am...
Lowers the mic and awaits a response.

Scott does his absolute best not to fall out on the floor laughing at everything Brandon had just said. He couldn't even believe half of it. He composes himself and responds.
This here ladies and gents is the reason why it really does pay NOT to have your head up your ass 24/7. Turn up the volume? Are you serious? Dude...you really think you're ever gonna be a champion in XWA with that kinda BS? HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! My freakin' god. Man...this has gotta be the most comically crap I've ever heard. So...so let me get this straight. The last two weeks, you've let me beat you, is that it? HAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAAAAAAAAAAA!!! Dude, you've gotta be the most pathetic piece of crap I've ever laid eyes on. Seriously. I think all those times Primo dropped you on your skull hanall made you a card carrying basket case.
From where I was standing the last two weeks, I beat your ass from pillar to post. I beat you like a red-headed step child. Well, actually last week it was Devlin I did the damage to, but you where were you when I pinned him? On your back as usual. I swear you spend more time on your back spread eagle in XWA then Destiny Knight and Channelle COMBINED.
The fans boo heavily. Scott was in typical form.
I'm gonna break it down for you real simple. You CAN'T beat me. You haven't so far. You never will. *Heh heh heh* You see, if you weren't so full of your own hype, you might have just heard all of the things I just said a few moments ago. About me being an All American. About me being a NCAA National Champion. You see, whereas you've been successful as a "pro" wrestler. Swinging chairs and wearing god awful facepaint most of your career. I'm the real deal. A REAL wrestler. Do I take shortcuts? Hell yea. But I doubt in a real wrestling match you could even hold a candle to me. In fact, just so I can prove that point. So that I can hammer home just how big the gulf of skill...REAL skill there is between us, tonight...I'm not going todo one single dirty move. Not one. I'm gonna pull out some of the stuff I did in the indies. I'm gonna dust off all over my Freestyle wrestling moves, just for you. And when the bell rings, and I'm standing outside of that cage looking back at you laid out in the middle of the ring...then...just maybe...you'll come to your sense that you're juuuuuuuust not good enough. Because to be "The Champ", you have to BEAT "The Champ". Bain did it. Keith Wyle did it. You haven't. And you never will.
"....Book Closed.... ....End of Story.... ....Deal With It...."
The ever cocky O'Dell smirks as he lowers his mic.

Well.. nice to see that your ego is intact. I only hope your skills are. Because your going to need every ounce of it. But it seems you are mistaken on one fact. When you pinned Devlin. It was I that was beating your partner down to a pulp. Hell, I had him beat with my patented 'Hail to the King' (Book End) finishing move. It was my mistake to allow him to get up to his feet. I should have pinned him right then and there. But I can assure you, tonight. In this very ring, there will be NO mistakes on my part.
For your information. I did hear all about your career in the NCAA. But know that I really don't give a flying fuck about any of that stuff. Do you really think that I came here to listen to you brag about your ventures elsewhere ? Psst, I don't think so. I came here for a FIGHT !
All of your foolish shenanigans means nothing to me. The only thing that I care about at this point in time is defeating you. Nothing else. I will do anything in my power to beat you in this very ring here tonight. I don't care what I have to do. I will get the job done.
You can see the fiery rage burning inside of Payne. The old blood cells are overflowing. His pride (and ego) at an all-time high. If anything, O'Dell has re-awakened Payne's burning desire to be the best once again. Until he BP could achieve this. This feeling would continue to burn and eat away at his very being.
"To be the champ, you have to beat the champ" ? Interesting that you brought that up. I mean, yeah. Keith Wyle & Ethan Bain are both well-respected champions, as I would even include your name among them. Its funny... you could never beat those guys on your best day. Yet, you stand here and act as if your some type of god that could never be beaten. Apparently, those two saw through your ego & found your weaknesses. That is why they were able to dethrone you on two occasions. You see, thats your big weakness Scott....your EGO !
That... is why you lost your World Championship in the first place. And its that very same thing that will cause your downfall here this evening. Add my name to that list. Because I will beat you and take you down. From there, I am going straight to the stop. And NO ONE... is going to stand in my way.
Bring your best moves that you have... Pull out all the stops...
Laugh about it all, joke around if you must. At the end of the Scottie. It will be Brandon Payne... getting the last laugh !

Scott readies a predictably smarmy remark...
Just goes to show you how much you suck at paying attention...AGAIN, Brandon. It's disappointing, really. I mean, a man like you whose supposed to be so knowledgeable having not a god damn clue about his opponent. No WONDER I've been beating your ass. Because if you were actually worth your salt, you'd know that I HAVE beaten Ethan Bain. First match I faced him in, I did what I do best, and pinned him. And as for Keith Wyle? Beat him as well. ONESHOT 2007 when the other Payne dropped the title. Slammed him on the sack of dimes he calls a neck and pinned him BEFORE I went and made Kayn tap to become a Two time XWA World Champion. Pays to do your homework, sonny-boy. Makes you look less like an idiot. Which I doubt is even possible really.
Scott chuckles to himself.
You see my friend. I lost the World Title because I took my eyes off the ball. But I can just as easily be World Champion, or National Champion, or Pure Champ...whatever. *Snaps finger* Just like that. Because everyone in this company knows that on any given night, I'm the best wrestler in XWA. PERIOD. The names of the men I've beaten in my career is a freaking ALL STAR list. Jayson Jones. Jon Payne. Ryan Fierhart. Ethan Bain. Keith Wyle. Kayn. Joey Curtis. XXL. I could go on. But then we take a look at the names of all of the people you've beaten. Come to think of it, who HAVE you beaten? Not anyone that matters. Avenger? Pffffffffffffffffffft...please. Lionheart? He hasn't stepped in a ring since the night he...AND YOU...got embarrassed by Primo & Sledge. In fact, I think he actually took the smart way out. He took some time off. Rested. Let the lingering stench of his failure at Vendetta dissipate a little before he came back. You? You came out and talked your usual crap, and continued to stink up the place. Which is why we're here in the 1st place.
You can take the man out of the "character". But ya' can't take the character out of the man. You wrestle under your government now. Brandon Payne. But you're still "Genesis". And just like the namesake you used as your alias for so long, you FAIL. Just like you're going to continue to fail. And just like I'll always be the shinning example of how badly and how frequently you fail. Because not if...but WHEN I beat you tonight, I wonder what kind of lame ass excuse you're going to have for losing to me again. And this time in a match of YOUR choosing, with me actually playing by the book? Man...that's gonna be one HELL of an interview.
Scott smirks as he waits for Brandon's final reply.

If you must know. Who you have or haven't beaten is none of my concern. I could really care less. All I'm worried about is the here and now. Any of your past accomplishments is irrelevant to me. They mean absolutely nothing !
I've beaten far more superstars then you could ever begin to imagine O'Dell. The Avenger, Lionheart, Shia Storm, Tha Infamous 187, Joe Bruiser, Psycho, Bryan Colombain, XXL, Primo. I could really go on and on if I must. All of those men are worthy adversaries that I've taken down one at a time. YOU will be another name added to that list.
Quite frankly, I will be more then happy to shut your trap once and for all. Your nothing but an arrogant, spoiled punk who needs to be taught a lesson in integrity and respect.
You may be able to take the man out of the character. But you will never destroy the man.
Genesis may be no more... but Brandon Payne lives forever.
When I rid myself of the ill-fated and cursed Genesis moniker. It was like getting baptized. Removing myself from all the pain, the suffering, and the anguish that I held inside for so long. All the bad decisions, all the mistakes, all the pain that was caused by myself onto others or to myself. Was now completely washed away.
For me, I felt it was time to turn over a new leaf and start a new legacy.
I might be a 'failure' in your eyes, and maybe everybody else's. But none of that matters to me. Whats important is how I feel inside. Right now, it feels pretty damn good to be here.
There will be no man nor force that will stop me from ripping you limb from limb. I don't care how great you claim yourself to be. I've faced the unbeatable and have beaten the untouchable one too many times.
You are just another thorn in my side that needs to be removed.
The question is, when I do beat you tonight. I wonder what your interview will be afterwards ? What kind of excuse would YOU make up ? That'll be one interview I'll be most looking forward to, I can assure you...
Don't worry about what I say, or do. Just worry about your own hide for once.
BP lowers the mic.
