The camera fades in to the backstage area, where Chris Lionheart is with XWA interviewer Fabiola.
Fabiola: Chris Lionheart, it's a long time since anyone has seen you in XWA - not since Genesis and yourself lost that first blood tag match against Prime and Nigel Sledge. Many people thought you had retired. What are you doing here at Sole Survivor?
Originally, I came here in a non-wrestling role to make the announcement of a new XWA match type. It's an old chestnut of mine which was going to be known as the Survior X System, notice how with that name it would fit well at this PPV? However now, XWA boss' have renamed the match type and will use it at one of their flagship PPVs instead, which obviously makes me happier that my contribution is being showcased at a bigger PPV. I won't reveal anything about how the much runs, but look out for 'The American Classic' at... The American Classic.
Fabiola: Soo, you're not here tonight to make an announcement about a match for tonight then. Are you here... to take part in the Sole Survivor tournament yourself?
Well, I'd like to come back and perhaps make a better go of things than 'Team TNB' did at last year's event, but I'm probably not eligiable to compete in this year's tournament since I've been absent from the regular TV shows for a while. But I am here looking for some kind of in-ring action.
Fabiola: Cool! Who do you want to face? Do you have anyone in mind?
Ever since the start of season 2, I've had one focus that's been moved to the back burner due to the problems I was having with The Coalition, and no I'm not finished with them yet, but I think it's time to move this other focus of mine into the forefront. I've sat back and I've seen one man that I have unfinished business with, Kayn, grapple with another man that I also have some old business with, Blade Meyers. A few others have come and gone, but right now Kayn holds the Pure title once more.
Lionheart rolls up the sleeve of his long-sleeved merchandise hoodie and removes a hospital bracelet with all of his details.
As you can see I've just been checked out from a LONG stay in hospital. I saw the news/rumor piece on the1xwa.net that someone posted up:
"Since Vendetta no one from XWA, from the staff to the talent and all between, has seen Chris Lionheart in person. From somewhere, rumours have surfaced that after he was eliminated early from the elimination first blood tag match that he was attacked in the parking lot and left for dead!
The last time Lionheart was attacked, the man responsible was revealed as Nigel Sledge. If Lionheart has been attacked like the rumour suggests, it couldn't have been Sledge as he was still in the ring participating in the match.
In an update to the rumours surrounding Chris Lionheart, it was then said that he had been admitted to hospital, where he stayed for a prolonged period due to irregularities with his brain waves. If he ever returns to the ring, he is expected to do so in a managerial role.
Has anyone seen Lionheart?"
As that report acurately says, it seems that there's a big problem with my brain, and there are ongoing tests by the doctors to try to cure my condition. I've had to sign a liability waiver, but at this moment in time I'm medically cleared to wrestle. I didn't see who attacked me this time either, but whoever it was did the job well enough to put me into hospital for that long period of time, so if I find out who it was, I'm going to put them in hospital too. The only difference is that when they leave, it'll be either in a casket or an urn....
