Ready For Real (Jamie Fury)

Soul Survivor 2008. The Phillips Center in Atlanta. Yet another exciting XWA PPV, and a chance to show the world something special. That was all that was on Alexis' mind as she made her second PPV appearance this season. Her theme song played and she stepped out from backstage and chipper as the week before, a week in which she made a successful singles debut. Were the good times going to be rolling on here? Only time would tell.

♥Tonight, I have a special message or should I say challenge, and it's aimed at one particular woman. A woman who has so far been not just a fighting champion, but one of the best new talents in all of the XWA! Right now, she's on that level that I hope to reach one day in the future...but right here and now in the present, I want to see how I stack up.

That woman is the former Pearl Champion, Jamie Fury!♥

As the fans cheer after she says Jamie's name, she encourages them along.

♥Jamie, it's all true what I say. The most of us new girls right now, we all look at you and we want to be right where you are, especially me. I know in my heart that if I'm going to be considered to be one of the very best that I have to test my mettle against the very best, and there's no time like right here and right now in Hotlanta to do it!!!♥

Cheap pops are cool.


♥Just as much as that, there's no better person right now to do that against than you, because I know you're probably just itching to get back into the ring and get some momentum going again. Let's do this!♥

And so then she waits for Jamie's response.

"Their Law" begins to play and the former Pearl Champ sure enough makes her appearance. Making the walk down the rampway without the title in hand is something of a shock still to most of the fans, but that's the reality of the business...nothing lasts forever. This offer laid out by Alexis though showed a lot of promise. How could she pass it up?

You're right about a few things. I have done a lot the last few months, not just for my own career but for the XWA as a whole. When you take a look back and you ask yourself which Diamond has had the most impact thus far, it would probably be one of two names that comes to mind. One of those names is Jamie Fury. The other one may very well walk out of here the Diamond Champion, but what's the difference between Channelle and I? Just like you said yourself Alexis, I've gotten the respect.

There's no right or wrong way to get to where you want to be in this business, it's all in how you're committed to getting there. I've always been committed to doing it the right way. By standing strong and walking tall. So far I say I've been doing alright, don't you?

The crowd agrees.

But last weak did leave a void in me. Last week losing the Pearl Title opened a hole that can only be filled one way...by working harder than I ever have before. I know how it feels to be "one of" the best. Now, my mission is to be THE best. That's no easy task to complete, but I'm more than up to it.

In a lot of ways, this isn't just a test for you tonight Alexis. I'm going to be testing my mettle just the same as you are, because even if I've been successful, I still have some statements to make and some points to prove.

♥Well, I guess that puts us both in the same boat them doesn't it? I'm down with that girlfriend! You know that's what I like about you, you're as real as they get. You've done so much the first couple of months of the year but you totally don't let it get to your head.

I respect that a lot about you. This will be totally different from last week when I had to show big Blake that I'm not just a happy little blonde girl, but a happy little blonde girl who can kick some butt when she needs too. I'm ready for this, you have no idea how ready for this I am Jamie.♥

You're right. I don't know how ready for this you are. I suppose that we're going to find that all out tonight though, aren't we? If you're up to the challenge, so am I. Good luck tonight Alexis...you're gonna need it.

Jamie smiles confidently as her theme begins to play once more. This would be literally the first day of the rest of her career. It was time to head back up the ramp and backstage to get ready for a more than decent challenge and get back on track.
