Near the stage entrance, Toni Phillups stands with the XWA Diamond Champion, Roze. Just a week removed from losing a non-title match against No.1 contender, Channelle. Toni kicks the interview off with a bang.
Last week, you were beaten by the woman set to challenge you at Soul Survivor, Channelle. Many say that it gives her momentum going into the match. What do you say, Roze?
I say that she got lucky. That's what I say. Do I look even the least bit concerned, Toni?
Come to think of it, no...
Exactly. It's called poise. And it surprises me how few females in XWA have it. Like our No.1 contender. What did she do last week following the win, huh? Just like it was scripted from the stuck up bitch bible, she ran her mouth. She made herself look like an idiot, which let's face it doesn't take much to do. Was she able to beat me? Yes. But anyone has that ability. That's why you compete. To see if you have what it takes on any given night to beat the next person. Last week was Channelle's night. But does Channelle have what it takes to be Diamond Champion? Not a chance. You take a look at the list of women who held this belt before me, and all of them shared one common link. Class. Even Sara Beck. Yea, she was a bit unbearable, but she held this title with dignity. Channelle doesn't have a dignified bone in her body. You tell me if a woman like her is a good fit for being the face of the company?
Some would argue she's not. But she might be just that if she can repeat what she did last week at Soul Survivor.
And we're going to test her mettle in being able to do so. Because right here, I'M naming the match to be had at Soul Survivor. I do have the right, do I not?
Toni nods.
Channelle. Last week, you said something about being "nasty". Well we're going to see just how nasty you are. We're going to see how sick you are. If you've got the stomach to get in the ring, and face me in my own element. We're going to see if your want of this title is worth you personal well being, your sanity...and your BLOOD. Because at Soul Survivor, It's going to be a FIRST BLOOD match.
The arena crowd roars in approval. A shocked Toni asks...
First blood? I...I hardly think such a match is up the alley of Channelle.
Why do you think I picked it? I've used to the sight of my own blood. I've been in barbed wire landmine matches. "BUCKETS O BLOOD" matches. I'm not afraid to bleed. But we're going to find out how Channelle feels about the sight of her own blood. We're going to see if the Diamond Title is worth her sacrificing having her precious little face scared for life. Which is why tonight, we're going to make things a bit interesting. Tonight, I test Channelle's chin. Later tonight, I'm going to walk down to that ring ready for a fight. And we'll see how Channelle feels about doing the same. Because tonight, it's all about setting the tone. And I don't see any better match for that, then a King's Road match.
The fans show there excitement again with a thunderous cheer. Roze looks into the camera for her final comment.
Youmanaged to beat me last week on your terms. Now, we see if you can SURVIVE on mines.
Roze steps away from the interview area. Roze goes to prepare for the match.
