Backstage at the Gwinnett Center, Marisol is warming up for her next matchup against the newcomer Tiffany Masterson. As she begins her usual stretching routine and calisthenics, the one thing that stood out in her mind was they very nature of the woman's being. Right from the outset she emerged with a different aura to her from the rest of the pack. Whereas much of the Diamond Division obviously originate from more common and more humble beginnings, Tiffany certainly didn't.
*Phuh*Phuh*Phuh* *thinking* Alright...you know she has a style just like yours. She's going to either come in aggressive or play the defensive against you. Just do exactly what you did last week...pick your spot, see your opportunities. You've been doing this longer than she has...you've been training for months to get to this point, you know what you have to do now!

Tiffany independently made her entrance in the locker room area, looking around it as it if it were some foreign country. She was looking for her opponent, and when she found her, Marisol instantly stopped what it was that she was doing.
"So this is how you prepare for your matches, hmm? More importantly...where you prepare for your matches. What a shame."

Marisol hadn't exactly fully geared herself up quite yet. Her gloves and her bandana were dangling off of the back of a nearby chair, which she grabbed bunched up in her hand as she rose to her feet to answer Tiffany.
A shame? And exactly what's so shameful about it Tiffany? This is where we get ready for matches. You're a wrestler. This shouldn't be anything new to you, or is it?

"New to me? Most certainly not. I'm more than aware that most use these facilities to prepare themselves for bouts."
Tiffany looks around again, trying her best not to touch anything. As she always did, she wore white. A formal gown-like dress it was, and white high heels, looking as if she was going to a ball and not a wrestling event. She wore those white gloves that covered her fingers and rode up to her biceps, and was deftly trying not to soil herself with the impurity of this "room".
"I'm also aware that in this being a sporting venue that it's most likely that at one point a man has used these facilities. I've found through my own research that many of the men who partake in sport, particularly contact or combat sport are barbaric, limbic, simple minded creatures. I could never lower myself to...sharing, for lack of a better word...a place of privacy such as this."
"I have my own private area in which to prepare, which I will return to in time to change and return here to face you, if you must know. It just intrigues me how someone like you can be satisfied with such paltry accommodations."

These accommodations aren't paltry by any stretch. They're clean and well organized. I wouldn't think that you'd know that considering the fact that you don't use them.
One by one, Mari slides on her gloves.
That's the nature of this sport, Tiffany. What the people see when they come to an arena or sit in front of their TVs to watch is one thing, but some of them...a lot of them dare I say, don't know how it can be behind the scenes. It's not easy work we do, traveling from one city to the next with all the aches and pains of wrestling week after week. Personally, I like being in a place like this because it helps me to realize and remember all of the hard work that I've put forth to get to where I am.
There's a phrase that was created here in America that best describes what I'm trying to say..."Keeping It Real."

"Hmmm, 'Keeping It Real' you say? Is that slang? It sounds like something clever that some urban youth would come up with, but not the 'white trash' type...more like a one of the African American 'hip hop' types. How very entertaining."
Tiffany tapped a finger to her chin, looking up to the ceiling as she pondered the origin of such a term. She was also taking all that it was Marisol had stated, not just that. It led her to an obviously one-ended response.
"The irony of that though Marisol is...I in fact 'keep it real' just as much as you do, or any of these other so-called competitors. The thing about that however is that my reality is worlds away and world's ahead of yours."
"There are things in terms of culture, in terms of ways of thinking, in terms of every single aspect of my being that I will never sully my hands with. They don't amuse me. I don't find them enlightening, enriching or entertaining."
"I enjoy the life I live and the things I can do and obtain within that life. I don't need to be reminded of how hard a life being a wrestler is because this is not my life. Wrestling is merely a hobby to me. I do this not for glory or honor or love...it's purely carnal. I fight for the satisfaction of it and nothing more."
"That is MY reality."

If that truly is your reality, the only thing you'll succeed in here is making enemies. Maybe the fact that you apparently don't take this as seriously as you probably should, or that you're ahead and above everyone had something to do with the outcome of last week's match, ever think about that?
Overestimating yourself can be just as bad as underestimating someone else I hope you know.

"You sound so concerned Marisol, so endearing you are...I'm touched. The only person's well being I would be concerned with here tonight should be your own though."
Before Marisol could, Tiffany grabs her red bandanna and starts to fidget arund with it.
"Contrary to your comment, I take this hobby of mine very seriously in that I don't like to lose. As result of last week, I'm taking you even more seriously. Going back to the whole preparation ideal, what do you think it is that I have been doing for this bout? Certainly not just stretching exercises."
"I have studied that match last week well. I researched both your tendencies and my own, and I've realized that your style is very similar to mine, with the difference of you using more flashy moves. That might have served you well last week, but this time around I will be more in tuned to what you try to implement."
She throws it to her opponent.
"Even in this being mere playtime for me, you'll find that I'm more mentally and physically prepared for battle than more than half of our fellow 'Diamonds'. I find it interesting that you're so passionate about all of this. By all means, bring that passion to the ring with you tonight. It may be the only thing that will help you to victory once more."
Those words spoken, Tiffany makes her exit from the locker room. Opening the door, there to no surprise are members of her "detail" waiting outside to escort her.

As the door closes shut, Mari holds her bandanna in her hands after catching it. Slowly she wraps it over her head, not even needing a mirror to do so. As she does, she thinks to herself.
She figured out the same thing that I did. Our thinking on life outside of the ring might be worlds apart, but it looks like we share the same strategy in the ring. We'll just see who's strategy works better.
