The arms race begins (Invite)

Just a segment later after Ms. Blackheart's huge announcement, the entrance theme of the former XWA National Champion Bryan Jasta plays. He steps into the arena with a look of focus in his eyes.

Buzz: There walks a man that you can imagine is in a verrrrrrrrrrrrry bad mood right now.

Roach: As impressive as his reign was, I'll bet that losing in ANY fashion doesn't sit well with him. Something tells me that we're about to hear an ear full.

He enters the ring and calls for a mic.

Let me start by saying the obvious. The XWA National Title. A title I held for over none months. A title I defended against all comers. A title that at Mayday, I lost to Van Hayden...

The fans anticipate Jasta's announcement of a rematch.

Van Hayden. ENJOY IT. Everyone since Mayday has been expecting me to name my rematch for the title I pretty much put on the map. Well I have no intention of doing so. My mission is complete there. I MADE the National Title. And now, it's on the rest of this roster to try and surpass me. And I doubt anyone EVER will. So enjoy your reign as National Camp, Van.

Surprise befalls all in the arena.

Buzz: Now that was unexpected.

Of course, Jasta had other issues to address...

My reason for doing so? A little event called SOUL SURVIVOR. And the fact that tonight, right now. I'm entering myself into it. The time has come for me to broaden my horizons. And the goal, is a spot in The Last Dance, where I'll meet Tommy Tryton, The Only The Strong Winner and the reigning World Champion. Only one man in XWA has the pedigree to be a TRUE World Champion. And that man is XWA's GREATEST champion. Me. So tonight, I'm looking for two men. But not just any men. I'll settle for nothing less then perfection. Nothing less then men who meet my standards in this ring. Which is impossible outside of the other members of The Coalition, but I digress. They have their hands full, so in all likelihood I'll be the only Coalition member entering. But one is all we need. So if there's any men backstage who want a secured victory, step out here now, or forever hold your piece.

The entrance theme of Osiris Alston hits the PA, and shock comes across the fans in the arena.

Roach: Osiris Alston? You've gotta be kiddin' me. These two just damn near killed each other 2 months ago.

Buzz: Oh yea. It just got interesting.

Alston enters the ring and calls for a mic. He stands just feet away from Jasta as he speaks.

Let's get one thing straight, Jasta. I don't like you. And I know the feeling is mutual. I don't like the fact that it wasn't me who took that title off you two months ago. But that was then, and this is now. At Mayday, I came THREE FEET away from securing my spot in The Last Dance. But while I was halfway up the ramp, my man Tommy Tryton hit the greatest damn frog splash EVER to put that Mucha Lucha reject Sushi-X out of commission. I can't hate on him for that. But the bottom line is that leaves two spots left. And I'm not a stupid man. I know for a fact that survival in Soul Survivor hinders on not who you're friend with, but who you side with that are the best. THIS...is the showcase of whose the best fighters in XWA. Not wrestlers, there ain't gonna be none of that here. FIGHTERS. And I'll call it like it is. Any team that has you on it, is an odds on favorite to win. So you add me on that team, and it's all money. That's how it's goin' down.

With a smug look on his face, Alston lowers his mic. It wasn't about liking him. It was about putting together the best team possible.

[jasta]

Jasta was all smiles at Alston revelation.

All of a sudden, this seems to have gotten just a little more one sided for all the rest of the field. And you're right, the feeling IS mutual. But as long as you know enough to know that victory is the ONLY reward, we're good. When all is said and done, we'll be in the final match. And from there, we can settle our issues like men.

Just as Jasta finishes speaking, Cold & Ugly from Tool begins to play. Into the arena steps Matt Winters of all people.

Buzz: 1st Alston, now winters? This has just went from insane to FREAKIN' NUTS!

Roach: That's what it's all about Buzz. A field of 48? We could see some team ups we've never dreamed we'd see.

Matt joins Alston and Jasta in the ring. After getting a mic of his own, He addresses both men.

I don't like...EITHER of you clowns. Jasta? You're an elitist jackass. And Alston? You're an arrogant douchebag. But you both are also a pair of the best pound for pound talents in XWA. And me? My rep speaks for itself. I've held titles all over the world. So where some would see a situation of strange bedfellows, I see a trio of superstars who get it done where, and WHEN...it counts. So consider me the third man in.

[si]

Alston was next to respond.

So if that ain't all fellas. I guess team one is set. And I reeeeeeeeally do hope that the three of us make it to the end. Cuz I'd love nothin' better...

He points at Jasta.

...then to whoop YO ass...

Then to Winters.

and then YO ass...and take MY ass, to the last dance.


With a cocky grin, he waits for the next response.

Matt offers up a quick witted response.

Knowing your track record in big matches, I wouldn't get my hopes so high, Alston.

With a smug look of his own, he waits for the next response.

[si]

Alston responds quickly to Matt's jab at him.

Oh yo ass got jokes, huh? Don't think because you're out here don't mean I won't break my foot off in yo punk ass.

[mw]

Matt responds with two simple words.

Bring it.

He tosses his mic to the floor readies himself. The crowd cheers on the potential brawl about to happen.

[jasta]

Jasta would step in before anything would happen between them.

Gentlemen. As much as I'd love nothing more then to see the twon of you beat the hell out of each other right now, I need you both fresh for the 1st round of matches. Let's focus on winning, and when we do, all bets will be off.

[si]

Alston calms himself down some before speaking again.

Whatever. You'd best stay the hell out of my way, Winters.

He drops his mic and leaves the ring.

[jasta]

Jasta watches as Alston leaves the ring. He gives Winters a final looking over before doing the same as Alston.

Winters looks and nods as his "Partners" left the ring. Like them on not, Jasta and Alston on paper were two of XWA's best. Which meant with him in the mix, they were a tough team to beat. And that in the end was all that mattered.
