As the the people of Columbia didn't get their fix of XWA from GLITTER the previous night, their back again for the big show TakeDown...and this week it kicks off with the sound of "Paint It Black" and the appearance of the XWA President Carmella Blackheart yet again.
Roach: The boss lady is in the house once again! She's got some big news for the people word has it, BuZZ...
BuZZ: Yeah, yeah...
Roach: You're still bitter you didn't get Glitter huh? And I thought you loved me...I'm crushed. Well, while my partner sulks I'll tell you all that June is a big month not just because of our additional presentations, but because the big PPV SOUL SURVIVOR comes at the end...and for all that info, well...we'll let Ms. Blackheart give you the skinny on that.
And right on cue she stands center ring with mic.
Ladies and gentlemen, this month's PPV showcase is a unique little gauntlet style match that we like to call Soul Survivor. In it, you come in with two men by your side, but you come out all alone and win yourself an invite to the Last Dance at XGAMES2.
This year, we're going to be picking up the pace with the SS series. It will will 3-on-3 Tornado style matches as opposed to traditional Tag matches, but the rules otherwise are all the same. If you are eliminated via pinfall or submission, your night is over, but if you can survive to the next grid you fight on until there are at least four men remaining. Then it comes down to either a 4-Man, 3-Man or 1-on-1 contest, where the last man standing will be the 2008 Soul Survivor!
Now, the way these teams will be formed this year will also be unchanged. I'm leaving it to the Combatants themselves to form up 3 Man Sqauds for Soul Survivor starting tonight...because starting tonight here on TakeDown is when Soul Survivor officially begins!
Roach: What!?
We will have 3 Opening Round Soul Survivor matches tonight. That's 6 teams, 18 men. Next week, we'll have 3 more with three more teams, and at Soul Survivor we have 2 more and then begin to wittle down the grid match by match until there's only one man left.
BuZZ: Wait a second...18 this week, 18 next week and then 12 more at the PPV? That's FORTY EIGHT spots!!! That's crazy!!!
Roach: This is easily the biggest XWA PPV yet by volume alone.
So gentlemen, I leave it you to figure out who you're going to be partnering up with, and for those who're competing on Overload, this applies to you as well...but you're going to have to fly on over here and appear on TakeDown if you wish to be a part of this. It's not like I'm not paying you enough that you can't afford an express flight.
It doesn't matter whether you're friend or foe, good or bad, on top or on the climb to it. Remember the slogan to the show as you go about yourselves this month...There Can Be Only One Soul Survivor.
And that was all she had to say. She stepped out of the ring as her theme song played once again.
Roach: Wow. That's not big, BuZZ...that's HUGE!!! Forty eight combatants!? I'm...speechless. You really have no idea just how big the XWA is until you hear something like that.
