The XWA HQ in New York City. It'd been a long time since Ethan walked these halls. The last time he was here, he was a new jack looking for work. Now, he was in possession of the grandest prize in wrestling. Today was no different from that day he 1st stepped foot into XWA. Business. But this was business of another kind. Today, he was meeting not the CEO Carmella Blackheart, or the GM Rodolphe Gallas. Today, he was here to see the chief male talent coordinator, and active wrestler Dru Nedermeyer. The subject, The World Title, and his current championship reign. Much to his surprise, Dru actually had an office. It clearly wasn't one as lavish as the higher ups, but while in NYC and doing his XWA duties, it obviously served it's purpose. The door was just slightly open, so Ethan saw fit to see himself in.
Yo Dru. I need to have a word with you.

He was just finishing up some stuff regarding XWA's new show Overload. Dru takes a look at Ethan and marvels at how far he'd come in just about a year.
You know, the last time you and I were this close man to man, we were beating the hell out of each other.
The irony was had it not been for Bain's brashness months ago, Dru might still be retired...
What can I do for you?

Ethan words a speedy response.
If my memory serves me right, I was the one gettin' the hell beaten outta me. Actually did me some good really. But that's not why I'm hear. I've been doing a lot of thinking since March Madness. At 1st, I didn't think nothin' of being World Champ. But after I beat O'Dell, it dawned on me. I like being champ. I like it alot. And beating Syrus at Mayday only furthered that feeling. It's taken a while, but It's starting to dawn on me that I am the man representing XWA. Being World Champ means you're the best of the best. But I'm not the best. Not yet. Not by a long shot. I remember back in October. You said that with the right coaching, I could become the greatest super heavyweight of all time. You said I could maybe even surpass you. Well guess what? I'm here to take you up on that offer.

Dru takes a surprised look at Ethan. This wasn't at all what he was expecting. Not in the least.
Whoooooooooooooooooooooa now. When I said all it would take you was some coaching, I didn't mean that I should be the one to do it, Kid. I mean, I appreciate your sentiment and all, but do you really know what you'd be getting yourself into?

If I didn't, would I be standing here? I know that you started your own school in Cleveland. And I know that you've been working with Devlin, Jimmy and Cade. They've been picking your brain for all of your knowledge, and succeeding. And I wanna do the same. Everything I know about wrestling is self taught. Stuff I picked up in the Indies. It's gotten me by for now. But you see the level of competition in XWA now. World class wrestlers. If I'm gonna stay champ, I'm gonna have to start stepping my game up. I'm gonna need to become more then just a bruiser. And who better to show me how to become a complete wrestler, then one of the best alive. I AIN'T takin' no for an answer, Dru.

A simple look into the eyes of Ethan told the whole story. He was definitely serious. In that, Dru couldn't say no if he tried.
2 years ago, if you came to me and said that a World Champion would be at my door asking me to teach him how to be not a good champion, but a great champion, I'd laugh in your face. But I guess things change. You've got it, Kid. You wanna be the absolute best of the best. I'll give you the tools to get there. But I can't do the leg work for you. You've gotta do your own grunt work. And you better believe that I'm gonna bust your god damn ass until I see you've got what it takes. You asked for it, you've got it.

Ethan couldn't help but to grin at the prospect. He answers back in kind.
Whatever you can dish, I can take it. Whatever it takes, Old man.

Dru replies...
I'm glad you said that. Because I'm done my "Business" crap for the week. I think it's time I introduce you to the XWA training facility downstairs. I hope you brought your gear.
From behind his desk, Dru pulls out his duffel bag. As he walks past Ethan, he says...
I'll be waitin' for ya' in the ring. Close up when ya' leave.
And with that, he leaves the office.

Ethan says to himself:
Good thing I keep my gear in the truck.
He exits Dru's office, closing the door behind him.
The End.
