Was it destiny? Was it fate? Was it chance? Nobody watching the Pearl Title match between Sumya & Jamie Fury could really make it all out, but as the statuesque champion dashed towards the former champion, you knew she had plans to do something impactful, and impact was the understatement of the night what happened next.
A name of the move is the STO, which stands for Space Tornado Ogawa, named after the former Japanese Olympic Judoka turned pro wrestler Naoya Ogawa. Quick. Sudden. Devastatingly effective when used at the right time. After going back and forth with Sumya for the majority of this contest, Jamie picked that moment to use it, and couldn't have timed it better. Sumya was groggy, enough to the point where Fury instantly went for the cover. Most would have probably expected a kick-out, but not on this night. The bell sounds, and for the third time, Jamie's hand was raised in victory, and was given the Pearl Championship too.
At that point there could be no doubts in anyone's mind that Fury was the real deal. She wasn't just one of the new girls now, she was a big game player and probably the heaviest of the heavy hitters in the Diamond Division right now. As she celebrated with the fans, one thing she lept thinking about one thing. A third title defense now meant something more than just her being the champion, it meant now that she held some power over how this title was to be defended until she could defend it no more. This changed things as far as the championship's lineage, and it was all in her hands now.
This was where her time as an XWADiamond and her career as a wrestler would truly be defined. Right here and right now.
