Scott O'Dell is seen leaving the Wachovia Center after a bitter sweet night. He didn't make it out of Wargames, getting floored, and the pinned by an opportunistic Sushi-X. The saving graves was that Sushi was later humiliated by fellow Headliner Tommy Tryton, who would go on to win. Scott knew he's have three more shots to make it into the last dance, so it was no problem taking an L tonight. He's approached by Fabiola backstage.
Scott, tough night tonight. You've gotta have mixed emotions right now, eh?
Mixed emotions? No, Fabs. There's nothing mixed about it. I'm plenty pissed right now. But not for what you think, sweet cheeks. I've still got Sole Survivor, Only The Strong and Devil's Night to make it into The Last Dance. It can't be an XWA main event without XWA's MAIN EVENT SUPERSTAR. And you're lookin' at him. Tryton did good tonight. I said that I'd take him to the top of this business, and like promised, he's in. I gave him the launch pad to greatness, and he proved my investment to be a good one. Two outta three Headlinerz in the finals is a statement. That statement is that at ANY damn time, we can take what we want, when we want. And there isn't a man in XWA who can say otherwise.
S...so what's got your goose, Scott?
The end of Mayday, that's what. One man. Brandon Payne. He seems to think that he's...what did he call himself..."Wrestling's Elite". *Hmmmph* How's man who's dominated in 2nd rate companies earn the right to call himself that? Let's face it people, XWA is the only place that matters in this business right now. XWA is the Major Leagues. Anything else is AAA. And what has Payne done in his two stints in XWA to date? Beat a few rookies. Had him a National Title run. Yea. But what is he remembered for? Getting leaked open TWICE by Primo. If that's Elite, then I must be a god damn wrestling MONOLITH. This is what I'm saying...
Scott turns to the camera.
Brandon. As far as I'm concerned, you're a 2nd rate hack. Just like the rest. You haven't done ANYTHING to even come close to being Wrestlings Elite. You're not elite, until you BEAT the Elite. And in XWA, that boils down to one man. ME. The Franchise. And judging by
your last in ring performance, I don't quite see that happening. So here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna be at the premiere of Overload. And if you've got the stones, show up. And in the middle of the ring, I show you what being elite is all about, punk.
With a smirk on his face, Scott nods. He turns and heads out the door to the parking lot.
