The bell had rung. Nate stood tall over his opponent. His opponent, Caine, had made wise cracks about Nathan's size and talent before the match and in return he had a sharp bite in the ass by karma.
Nathan stares at the downed man for a second, and realized this was his first win in a large company like XWA. His debut had been a success. A flashes his pearly whites to the crowd and raises his arms. They stood to their feet and cheered in approval. He nods and simply hops out of the ring, and heads to the back.
He finds a near by fold-out chair and collapses on it. The smile still remained on his face.
Looks like he couldn't walk the walk....

Michael limps through the back. Blood still pouring out lightly from the second cut that he received during his matches against his brother Anthony. He was beaten, battered and bruised. Also pissed off to boot. Not a good combo after someone who just went through three matches of hell. Michael didn't care at this point about the blood though. Right now, what he cared about, was being able to find his first opponent for the Jasta challenge. Michael was determined to prove that he can be at Jasta's level. He knew he was at Jasta's level. All he needed was that chance. The chance to show that he is not some over the hill guy. Hell, he was only 26. He was still in his prime.
Walking through the backstage area, he noticed Nathan Browne, sitting on the chair, looking completely exhausted from his match. Michael walked over to him and simply uttered one word....
You.....

Nathan gives Mike a blank stare. Pretty creepy having a man covered in sweat and blood, uttering stuff, come up to you randomly. Especially when his utters are directed to wards you. However, he decides to keep his cool and play along.
Me.

I'm picking you for my next match, whether it'd be at Overdrive or Takedown. So now, you can either accept or refuse. Refusing however, makes you look like a coward. I'm sure you don't want to look like that after your debut win now do you?

I'm sure losing to the rookie isn't the way you want to look after losing to your brother. But hey, that's your decision, bucko. If you're down with the Pure rules, then I'm sure we can find ourselves some ring time.
Nathan stands up. The smile he had earlier was now completely gone. All that was left was a fierce look in his eyes. The look of a man ready to fight.

You could name any kind of stipulations you want and I'll gladly accept. The loss to my brother doesn't mean a damn thing to me. It was to show what I'm willing to go through to prove myself. How many people can say they've gone an hour and thirty six minutes straight in a match or series of matches? Not many. Very few infact. What that match proved is that I am mentally and physically tougher than any one in XWA.
Yea, that's a big claim that I am making. And when someone else can go longer than what I went through, then they can claim the some. Until then, they are nothng but 20 minute simpletons. I have officially set the bar for the standard of going the longest in a series of matches.
On to you now. You want Pure rules? Fine by me. By you not leaving the ring and no ropebreak, that makes me even more dangerous. Because you have nowhere to run, no where to hide. And when I have the bullseye aimed at your chest, the flamethrower will be locked, cocked and ready. And after you recover from being 3rd Degree Burnt, you'll see exactly what I've claimed is true.
And then, you'll be nothing more than a stepping stone, a stastic in my goal to face Jasta and Soul Survivor. So prepare yourself for waht no one else will do to you. Use you like the tool that you are.

Osiris walks in when Michael was talking about how long his match was.
Osiris: A hour and thirty minutes? I can beat that. I had a match that lasted two whole hours. So you never set any bar.
Turns to Nathan.
Osiris: Do me a favor and beat the crap out of this guy when you have your match. I'll be rooting for you.

Michael turns to Osiris. His eyebrows narrowed as Osiris made his claim.
A two hour match you say? Was it here? No? Doesn't count then. What you did else where, doesn't mean shit here. Quicker you understand that, the better you'll be.

Osiris looks at Michael in mock confusion.
Osiris: Oh. I didn't know it had to be here. Now I have to start all over again.
Osiris then looks at Michael with anger.
Osiris: Who the hell do you think you are, telling me what to do?

Osiris: Better then me? Ha! Fat chance. After Nathan here has beaten the shit out of you and after I'm done tearing Dante apart, then I will take you on. If you really do think that you are better then me, it will be in a match of my choosing.

Mentally and physically tougher than anyone in XWA? Because you got beat down for an hour and thirty six minutes? I'm going to go out there and say the toughest man in XWA mentally and physically is the man you're planning on fight and Soul Survivor, Bryan Jasta. Sure, he's a dick, but he knows how to get it done in the ring. He knows how to get under someones skin. He knows how to be a wrestler. And for that, I'd say he's easily the best XWA has to offer.
Enough about Jasta. What do you have on me, Mike? Years of experience? That's fine and good, however, experience means nothing if half your matches are in the L column. I've got something on you that you don't have on me. I'm NEW. You don't know ANYTHING about me, with the exception of my match I just came back from where I destroyed Caine. I've watched many of your matched, I've done my studying. Watch your back, you know NOTHING about me.
So, you can keep going on with saying you're going to beat me, scorch me, whatever. Until you put me down for the three you're nothing to me. If you beat me I'll gladly shake your hand and tell you that you were the better fighter of the night, but until the match comes your words aren't shit.
Nathan crosses his arms firmly across his chest as his eyes burns a hole right through Xavier

Osiris smiles at Nathan's words.
Osiris: So true. Spoken like a true competitor.
Looks over to Michael.
Osiris: Might want to look out bub. You'll be walking away with two losses in a row, and you'll have only yourself to blame at how much you suck.

You can name all you want. That's your choice. Doesn't change what I believe in my mind to be true. Yea, I'll agree that Jasta is tough phyiscally and mentally. His little mind games though, don't work on me anymore. His dominance in the ring, I've lived through it. Beat down I was, but here I am. Standing and bleeding. Yea, Jasta may have pinned me and gave me a L in the loss column. Does that make him better than me? Statistically, yea that does. Does it make him tougher than me? Not by a long shot. The day that I am broken mentally and physically, is the day that I am truly beaten. And that's not gonna happen until there's no more life in me.
I'll give you your point. I know nothing about you. I have all of one tape to study. Thats fine by me. I've never been one to turn down a venture into the unknown.
As for you Osiris, walking away with two losses in a row. You act like I'm supposed to be scared or worried. Frankly, I don't give a crap about losses anymore. What matters to me, is how much I can hurt you or break you. Thats what I care about. Sure, I may walk away with a loss, but lets see if you'll be actually walking if not being carried out on a stretcher.
Now back to you Browne. Between you and me, there's only one thing left to do. Make this official at Overload. I'm planning on being there for its debut, match or not. So if you want to make this official, meet me there and we'll shake and sign on it.

You're on!
Nathan smirks, turns and walks off in the opposite direction. He now had his second opponent. This guy, like Caine, was also bigger than him, which meant he had his work cut out for him. Which ALSO meant it was time to go train...
