A Diamond Down
-6/3/08
XWA Diamond Sara Opaulua suffered a severe spinal contusion at the hands of Michelle Marx this past Sunday at Mayday. The injury was sustained just seconds after she was busted open by way of brutal (And questionable) shots to the head. Immediately rush to see XWA Physicians, the diagnosis was an ominous one, says Dr. Phillup Reese, chief XWA examiner.
"The 4th and 5th vertebrae where ruptured as result of the trauma induced by Michelle's finishing move, which she didn't perform correctly. The move is meant to be done so that the natural bend if the spine absorbs the brunt of the blow, leaving the person mildly discomforted, but certainly not almost paralyzed. While an operation can and will be done to repair the damage, fusing the vertebrae back in place, sadly, Sara's days as a wrestler are done. As another blow such as the one suffered could leave her paralyzed, or worse."
The following statement was made by XWA GM, Rodolphe Gallas-
"You never want to see or hear of someone injured. But thus is the nature of this sport. What disturbs me most is if the injury was accidental, or intentional. In any case, our team of doctors are the best in the world, and as like all other superstars injured under our watch, Sara's medical expenses will be fully covered by GGE, as will the rest of her 2008 contract and compensation for her injuries. It is a shame to see such a promising and athletic woman's career cut short."
The1XWA.net and all of the staff and employees of XWA wish Sara Opaulau the best, and a speedy rehabilitation.
