[glow=red,2,300]Cheap Victory Or Prycey Loss.
by David Richardson[/glow]
Around this time of year the XWA Mayday PPV is one that provides a good value of wrestling entertainment. one that provides shocks, comical moments and Title changes. and this year looks like it will be no exception, with War games and Boot camp ready to get underway it looks like this Mayday will not be forgotten anytime soon. among these big tournaments are other big names matches. such as Syrus' shot against Ethan Bain for the XWA World Championship, a title Bain has made his own. and of course Van Hayden will face off against Bryan Jasta in possibly Jasta's toughest test to date.
But tonight another man hopes to get himself noticed on this big PPV. that man is Christian Pryce. Pryce recently made his presence felt when he returned from a month long hiatus with a huge fireworks display and strong words aimed at XWA's "power Players". Pryce's words and entertainment stunt have earned himself a match against a few of XWA's big names as of right now. Pryce will find himself across the ring from former XWA and "Uncrowned Champion" Xander Xavier Luther, One half of Viewer Discretion Robby Sylk, and finally the lovable giant known as Chet Dixon. in a brutal elimination match.
So what are Pryce's chances of winning the match. it has been heavily disputed that Pryce is the obvious underdog. but Pryce has shown in the past that he can handle it big. on Pryce's XWA PPV debut he went one on one with the black Dragon Anthony Xavier. and however hard fought it was Pryce walked away with a tick in the win column. so he has proved that he can win against big names. but Pryce has also had a few disappointing matches, his major loss came before his hiatus against Blade Myers. Pryce had his posterior handed to him with a skewer in the middle. so his odds in this match are uneven. it also does not help that he is facing off against Sylk and XXL, two men who both have proven that they are not easy to beat. Sylk is on fire and XXL has a lot to prove on his return. so this makes them the odds on favorites. and of course you cannot count out Chet Dixon, as soon as you think he is going to be slaughtered he pulls off a miraculous victory. so this further places Pryce's chances at the bottom.
However Pryce has proven that he will not lie down for anybody and that he will give his all to win at Mayday. Pryce unlike the other three is not an established member of the XWA Roster. if anything Pryce is trying to hold on to his contract in hope that he will some day become XWA World champion. but if Pryce even wants to be considered worthy enough to get a shot at any title he is going to have to impress officials or win the match at mayday. i am favoredly tipping the F4W to steal the show, i think that it has the most potential out of all of the matches to become a match of the decade. and you never know, maybe lighting will strike in the match.
So Mayday is going to be an amazing PPV. everybody has a point to prove on the night. but only those worthy enough of the point, can prove its worth. so sit back and enjoy the night. because not only do the stars have to prove a big point, but XWA on a whole, seeing that this is the first major PPV for the promotion we expect big, and we are sure XWA will deliver on the goods.
