Pre-Match Warm Up (O2A)

[Romeo Davis]

Backstage during MAYDAY is where the scene was set. Romeo was backstage warming up for his match against Godlieve. He was going up against a giant and someone who knew the ring very well. This was by far going to be the greatest match of his career. He begins punching the air getting set for the match. He had to be able to perform to the best of his ability. He had to have the right mindset so that there wouldn’t be any mistakes.

Here we go Romeo. It’s time to step up. Go big or go home.

Romeo begins his pre-match stretching. He had to be loose to execute certain moves. He had to be fully prepared for later on in the night. As he was stretching he felt a tap on his shoulder. He quickly turned around to see…

[Kayn]

“Good luck out there man. That guy looks like a killer.”

*The tap on the shoulder was from the current Pure champ, who was on his way to the ring for his next title defense.*

“Make sure you come back in one piece.”

*Kayn smiled to try and help keep Romeo’s mind at ease from what could possibly happen. He waited for a reply.*

[Romeo Davis]

It was the current Pure Champion Kayn. Romeo thought it would be another person coming up to him to try and bring his confidence down. He was relieved when it was Kayn telling him good luck.

Thanks bro. Ha, I know that he is a killer. I am just gonna go out there and try my best to beat that guy. I’ll be sure to come out of here tonight in one piece. Hopefully.

Romeo stopped his stretching for a moment before responding to Kayn again.

Good luck to you also man. Another title defense for you tonight. I’m sure that you will walk out of MAYDAY still the Pure champ.

[Kayn]

“Well your best is all anyone can expect out of you, and if they want more, well, let them get in the ring and do it better, right?”

*Kayn chuckled a little, then continued.*

“I’m sure hoping that you’re right. Jared seems intent on wanting this title, but so far this season I’m on a definite roll, so hopefully I’ll keep going and continue to be another measuring stick for this industry. Just like a bunch of the legends that came before guys like us.”

[Romeo Davis]

Very true. The best is all they can expect. I have been working hard since I got here. It’s my rookie year here and my first year ever wrestling in a business. So basically my best is all I can give.

Romeo begins to stretch his arms by pulling his right across his chest followed by his left.

Yeah, Jared did really seem to want the shot and he has been doing pretty well in the ring. But you, Kayn, you have been doing real well in the ring. You walk down that ramp and just do your thing. If you continue to wrestle the way you have been since the first show then you are defiantly gonna come out of here with the title still strapped around your waist. I believe that you’ll win.

[Kayn]

“Thanks for the vote of confidence.”

*Just then Jared’s music started to play over the PA system. Kayn took the Pure title from his shoulder and wrapped it around his waist.*

“Well, it sounds like I’m about to go on. Time to see if the title stays here or not.”

*Kayn snaps the buttons on the belt and then pats Romeo on the shoulder.*

“Have a good match, and make sure you show that guy what the XWA is all about.”

*Kayn started to walk towards the curtain area to go and once again defend his title. He kept his ears open for a reply from Romeo.*

Romeo then also hears Jared’s theme music begin to play. It was time for Kayn to defend his title. Kayn says a couple words and begins to walk away.

Thanks man. I’ll give it my all to how him what the XWA is all about. Good luck out there man. I’ll catch ya later.

After saying these words, Romeo goes back to his stretching. Soon enough it would be time for him to go down to the ring. He waits to see if anyone else would come up to him as he continues his stretching for the match.
