MAYDAY: War Games, the first major PPV of the XWA season kicks off with a loud pyrotechnic blast around and above the ring, up the ramp and then on the stage as fans throughout the Wachovia Center roar in anticipation.
Roach: Ladies & Gentlemen, welcome to XWA's MAYDAY: War Games 2008! We are coming to you live and direct from the sold-out Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, PA!!!
BuZZ: That's right, tonight we're going to find out who will be the first man and woman in the XWA who'll be heading to XGAMES2 to take part in the Main Event, and that's just the tip of the iceberg folks. I can't wait!
The crowd volume lowers. The temporary silence is then replaced by the opening of "Paint It Black" by The Rolling Stones, symbolizing the appearance of the President of the XWA herself. The people of Philly welcome her with a raucous ovation.
Roach: And we start of course with the boss lady herself...
BuZZ: You knew she was going to show up tonight, this is a big deal here MAYDAY is.
Roach: That it is...and she's told me before we went on the air that she's got some announcements concerning tonight's Main Events as well!
BuZZ: Hey! How come she didn't tell me anything? It's cuz your black isn't it!?
Roach: Shut up, BuZZ...
Hellooooooooooooo Philly!!! Welcome one and all to MAYDAY 2008!!! Tonight...inside of these ropes...the XWA will once again prove to the wrestling world who's the boss by giving you all the most high-octane, action packed wrestling on the planet, and it all comes to a close when that cage hanging high above me there comes down.
The masses look up, as does the camera, to the steel cage hanging above the ring.
When that happens, that means that it's going to be time for the Boot Camp match and War Games! At stake, the first positions in the Main Events at XGAMES2, The Diamond's Conflict and The Last Dance! It will be 6 men...or women...at a time, and the first to escape the cage will be moving on. Now, for the Boot Camp match it's going to be a one shot deal, and I will naming the 6 Diamonds who'll be a part of that match later on tonight. War Games though will be three matches, featuring 18 of the XWA's best. The winners of those matches will come back for triple threat match inside the cage, and the winner of that match will be crowned this year's "Ring General"!!! Without further ado, I give you those men chosen to be in War Games 2008...
BuZZ: Now there's a mixed bag right there. Some old, some new...
Roach: But all of them have been making some noise thus far. Fine picks I say, like I'm gonna argue with the boss.
Now that you, and they, know who's in...I leave it to them to figure out what else they want to do for this night. Gentlemen, if you so wish to partake in other matches you can, as long as they're not title matches. If I were you though I'd save my strength, but that's just me.
Now onto the next order of business I have to address to you tonight, concerning the XWAWorld Title. At Vendetta, Ethan Bain successfully defended the belt against Scott O'Dell in a 5 Star Match. Mr. Bain has certainly proven to be a resilient and entertaining champion, and the man who's been chosen to face him tonight for the title is equal in both categories. In fact...ENTERTAINMENT is his middle name...or is it his last? Oh well, I think you know what I'm getting at here folks. Tonight, for the XWA World Championship it will be Ethan Bain defending against Syrus The Entertainer!
BuZZ: Wow! What a match!
Roach: Syrus deserbes the shot in my opinion. Undefeated in March, and definitely a rising star in the XWA, same as Bain. This will be good.
Again, I leave it to the champion and challenger to work out how they're going to contest for the title. That's about all for now. Later tonight, I will announce the six Diamonds who'll be stepping into Boot Camp. Until then Philly...and the rest of the world...enjoy the show!!!
