Following the show, Jimmy steps into the backstage area. He takes a seat and nods as reporters lined up to hit him with the question on everyone's mind.
Jimmy. Tough, TOUGH loss out there. It must be frustrating to have controlled the match for so long, just to lose it in one split second.
That's just how the cookie crumbles sometimes. I took my eye off the ball, and credit Pablo for being smart enough to capitalize on it.
So what do you think about what people around the industry call "The Ames Curse". You've never held a title pass two defenses after all.
People can think what they want. I don't count it as being cursed. I count it as havin' dumb luck. It can happen to anyone. It just seems to happen to me more often then most. I'm not gonna sit here and say a curse made me lose tonight. I lost on my won, with no help from any supernatural forces.
Jimmy. What comes next for you? A rematch for the title by chance?
Yer damn right. But not at MayDay. I'm not that kinda guy. I'm gonna let Pablo, and the rest of the X-Gen Division have there fun. I'm all about spreading the wealth. I'm gonna let Reyes defend the title as he sees fit for MayDay, and the rest of June. But at Soul Survivor, I'm comin' for the title once more. And Whoever is champ at the time had better be ready for a showdown. Nuff said. Now if you'll excuse me, It's a LONG flight to Philly.
Jimmy gets up from the seat and walks away as things are prepared for the next interview. Gracious in defeat, Jimmy didn't see it as a crushing loss. He saw it as a lesson learned. The true sign of his gradual maturation as a wrestler.
The End.
