Backstage during Vendetta, Johnny Trudeau, AKA Johnny Aces walked that halls of the Tokyo Dome looking for one man. Charles Troy. The two men had history that went back almost 10 years. Both as partners and rivals. But John hadn't seen nor talked to Charles since coming to XWA. After being pointed in the direction of "Kaster's" last known position, John spots him.
It almost seems like you've been tryin' to avoid me, Chuck.

Only one man alive had his respect enough to be able to call him "Chuck". Charles turns around to find himself face to face with a man he practically considered his 2nd brother.
Not exactly, John. Not exactly. My time's pretty much been taken up. I've got a long term plan here in XWA that's going to take shape tonight. Right after I challenge Fierhart to a match tonight. Just wait and see.

That's what I wanted to talk to ya' about. How important is this lil' feud with that Fierhart fella? I mean is it REALLY that big a deal? So his old man and your old man had some scraps back in the day. Ain't you your own man now? Or is there somethin' you ain't tellin' me yet.
John inquires, and waits the response.

Charles lowers his head a bit as he formulates an answer. He looks John in the eyes and delivers.
John. I would at all expect you to understand the severity of what's happening between me and Ryan Fierhart. Or Temperence and Heather Fierhart either. It's a matter of family pride. The Fierharts are regarded as being the 1st Family of wrestling in America. A title that Alex Fierhart Sr. STOLE from my father when he defeated him in this very arena over 21 years ago. And it's been a cloud that's hung over our heads ever since. Paul and I never spoke about it, because it sickened us. It's one of the reasons we decided to follow in our father's footsteps. Making an example of them is my 1st priority. It's as simple as that, my friend.

If there's one thing I know most, it's that yer as stubborn as a god damn mule when it comes ta' stuff like 'dat. No point on even tryin' ta' talk ya' out of it. But as yer friend, I've gotta tell ya' to keep it frosty. Don't let it become an obsession. I know ya' wanna beat the guy, but there's more to this place then just gettin' some git'back.
John changes gears a little bit.
Oh, I heard from the grapevine that Paul's just signed on with XWA to. Sounds Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiighty interestin'.

The idea brought a smile to Charles' lips.
Of course. You didn't think I'd come into unknown territory without having back up, did you? He's been off taking care of things for MWCWF. Him signing an XWA contract officially means he's free to compete here. And I know off hand from the last convo I had wit him 2 weeks ago that he's got his eyes set on a few men in particular. It's only a matter of time before XWA gets a taste of "Regulation", Troy style.
You know, John. My offer still stands. I know you and Paul have never really seen eye to eye, but that in no way should stop us from make the inevitable, reality. You, me, and Paul. United as one force. XWA wouldn't stand a god damn chance. Survival is going to be dictated by knowing who your allies are. Between the XWA established talent, those PTW transplants and us, control is pretty much wide open.

I do appreciate the offer, Chuck. But as far as XWA goes, I wanna see how far I can git on ma' own. I know if I ever git inta' anything, I can count on you, and you know that' same goes wit' me. Besides, you and Paul can handle anythin' thrown at ya'. Ya' don't need a 3rd wheel.

Completely understandable, old friend. But the door will always be open for us Mavericks to ride again.
Charles pats John on the shoulder.
We need to catch up some more when we get back stateside. But right now, I've got a challenge to go make. Good luck out there, John. That Punch guy doesn't take me as the type to stay down, no matter how many times you clean his clock.

Good luck to you too, Chuck. Remember what I said. Don't let this want to be the better of The Fierharts rule you.

Don't worry, Johnny. Ryan Fierhart is only the beginning.
Charles walks past his old friend, on his way out to the ring to make his challenge. This night would officially begin the next chapter in the Troy occupancy of XWA. In this potential war, the 1st shot was about to be fired.
The End.
