The Time is Now [Jasta]

The fans within the Tokyo Dome where still on their feet as Vendetta had just begun. The theme music was playing and pyro had gone off. This pay per view was defiantly going to be a good one. As the fans were still on their feet, "Speedin'" by Rick Ross blared through the Tokyo Dome sound system. They all knew who was going to make his appearance. The fans erupted as the music continued to play. Suddenly Romeo Davis emerged from backstage for all the fans to see. He was more pumped than ever when he stepped out onstage. He was already in his wrestling attire and was ready to go. It was his second pay per view ever and he wanted to make it a big one. He continued his ring walk by taunting for the fans as they continued to cheer. His heart began to race because this event was much bigger than any Takedown. Once he got to point where he stood before the ring, he began to dance because he knew that the faces enjoyed watching. Following the dancing, Romeo slid into the ring and walked to the center of the ring where he picked up the microphone that lay there. He kept the microphone in his hand as he looked throughout the arena at all the fans who had paid to see the show. He began to nod his head as his theme song continued to play. Soon after, the music was stopped and Romeo raised the microphone to his lips.

So, here we are at Vendetta. Here I am at my seconds pay per view ever. Man I have to tell y’all that it has been a great ride so far with me here in the XWA. To tell ya the truth, I never thought that I would be doing this good for a rookie. All I’ve been doing is going into every match and giving it everything that I got. The harder you work, the better you perform. It shows to prove that you either go big or you go home.

Romeo stopped speaking for a moment. It was time to now get done to business and tell why he was out there. It was time for him to get his match.

Now during these past couple weeks and even before I’ve been watching this superstar wrestle and I have heard what he has had to say. He knows what he is saying and he is backing it all up in the ring. This superstar is by far one of the best in this business. He’s been on a great streak defending his title eight times. Eight times, now y’all have to know that that means something and it is big. I, Romeo Davis, am out here to challenge this man to a match. Yes Bryan Jasta I am out here challenging you to match later tonight in this very ring.

Buzz: Is this kid serious? I don’t think he knows what he is doing.

Roach: Well the kid wants a shot at Jasta. I don’t know what he is thinking, but he wants a shot.

Jasta I want a shot at you and your XWA National Championship. You have been on a great run, but I think it’s time for you to step down bro. It’s time for someone to dethrone you and I plan on making that person me. I have much respect for ya man don’t get wrong on that. I defiantly think that you are way up there at the top, but the time is now. Tonight is the night Jasta. So Jasta, what do ya say man? Romeo Davis versus Bryan Jasta for the XWA National Championship. I know these fans wanna see it, so man, what do ya say?

The crowd erupts after hearing Romeo challenging Bryan Jasta for the National title. Romeo had said that he wanted to do something big and he is doing it right now. Romeo stood in the ring as focused as possible. He didn’t know whether or not Jasta was going to show up or not. Romeo had given out the challenge and it was waiting time now.

No music accompanied Jasta's arrival into the arena. His 2nd career appearance in the hallowed halls of The Tokyo Dome. With mic in tow, Jasta stands atop the set and speaks.

Now this...this is comical. This has to be the funniest thing I've heard since I've been in XWA. My next challenger for this National Title is...a rookie? A man with all but 3 XWA matches under his belt? I really have to ask if XWA's top brass even take me seriously.

Jasta makes his way down to the ring. Once inside, he takes a look at his would-be challenger Davis and shakes his head.

I've faced and defeated established men. Men regarded as being the ELITE of the industry. And now, I'm going to be facing...you? That's like stepping down 4 rungs on the ladder. I do this for challenge. I do this to test my skill, and prove that I AM the best wrestler on the planet. But what do I have to prove in defeating you tonight? NOTHING. All I have to gain from this is taking another rookie to the woodshed. Shortening the career of another budding young star. Last year, it was Van Hayden, who sat out the final 3 months of the season after I beat him...SOUNDLY. This year, it was poor Kris Sayint. Who was so high on the fact that he pinned me in a Tag Match, but learned really...REALLY fast that one on one he was in NO way a challenge for me. And now, you. A man who's defeated...wait...

Jasta pauses for a second...

Come to think of it, who HAVE you defeated? Who the hell are you to begin with while we're at it? It's clear from your little speech that you know, and have watched so much about me. But you? You're obviously not even a blip on my radar. I can think of off hand 10 other men I'd consider worthy challengers for this title. And you're not one of them. But since I'm contractually obligated to defend MY National Title tonight, and I could use the work out for the next WORTHY competitor to step up, I'll humor you and give you your 15 minutes of fame. Because 15 Minutes is all the time I'll need to send you on your marry little way. Then, when you have a little more game experience under your belt, you can come and try to play with the big fish again one day.

Jasta relished in the chance to again hand a rookie a debilitating defeat.

Romeo nods his head after hearing what Jasta had to say to him. Romeo understood well what Jasta had to say, but he was not going to back down. He raised the microphone to his lips and began to speak.

I knew that you would come here and find this very comical. I bet ya everyone in the back thinks this is some joke. Even if anyone thinks it’s a joke, I very well don’t think it is. I am dead serious about this match and I will give you a challenge. Sure yea whatever, I’m a rookie and I haven’t beaten many people. Is that supposed to scare me that you think I’m nothing and you’ll walk all over me. Ha, man Jasta, you betta think again bro. I’m no pushover when it comes to getting into this very ring.

Romeo thought for a moment of what to think of next.

It doesn’t matter who you have beaten in the past or how many people you have beaten to defend the title. That was the past Jasta. Yes it’s a record and everything in the XWA but it’s time for the future. It’s time for a new leaf to be turned. So you can continue to think that this is gonna be a walk in the park for you, but we’ll just see come later tonight man. So yea sure give me my fifteen minutes of fame, but let me just let you know that you may not leave tonight as the National Champion anymore. Once I defeat you then you will know that not every rookie is a pushover. A great example was Ethan Bain last year and look at him now. So if you continue to think that I am nothing then so be it. I can deal with that. Just don’t cry when you don’t leave the Tokyo Dome with the National title around your waist.

There really wasn’t much for Romeo to say. Jasta simply thought he was nothing compared to him. All Romeo could do is show him what he’s got later on in the ring.

Now that begets a laugh out of Jasta, a rare sight indeed. He responds soon after.

You're even bold enough to compare yourself to Ethan Bain? Are you serious? Now I KNOW this has to be some kind of gag. Ethan Bain has racked up wins against the likes of Evan Fate, Steven Higby, Vikram And Sylas Styles. Men who are ALL about 8 steps higher on the food chain then you. Two of which are men who myself have defeated in my career. You my friend aren't even in the class to speak the NAMES of these men, and you compare yourself to the World Champion as far as you pedigree as a rookie? HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Jasta shakes his head and adds.

This match it seems is going to take on a much more greater role. Not only will it add to my reign as being XWA's longest running champion EVER, as well as adding to the legacy of me being the greatest National Champion of all time, it's going to serve as a wake up call for you my young friend. Because when you're staring up at those lights, possible with the taste of your own blood fresh on your lips, you'll come to see that you have a LONG way to go before you're on my level. Let me give you a little lesson in recent history. The last time I lost a one on one match was right here in this venue. Jan 14th, 2008. And do you know who was the man who did it? DRU NEDERMEYER. One of the most legendary men to ever set foot in a ring. He...has been the ONLY man within the last 7 months good enough to defeat me. So think on that one. The one man who has to date proved to be my better, is a man who is regarded as being one of...no...THE best, period.

And you really believe you're good enough? I really do commend your bravery. But there's a thin line between being brave, and being stupid. And I think I know full well what side of the line you're on. I am indeed going to enjoy picking you apart limb from limb. Like a fly that you catch with a pair of tweezers. 1st, I pick off your wings. Then, I pick off your legs, one by one. Until I leave you with nothing. No will to fight. No drive to continue. And most importantly, with the knowledge of what true suffering is. And I'll enjoy every minute of it.

Romeo quickly raised the microphone up to his lips.

Whoa hold up there Jasta. I am most defiantly not comparing myself to Ethan Bain. That never came out of my mouth there man. I said that rookies aren’t pushovers and I used Ethan as an example. I never said that I can be compared to Bain. So just pay attention to what I say and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

Romeo then speaks on the next topic.

You think that this match will be a wake up call for me? Well then let it be. Let me make the rookie mistake for challenging such a "wrestling god" as yourself. Let me get the bloody pulp beaten out of me. I don’t need to hear it all. Just show up to the ring and do your thing and I’ll do mine. I don’t need to hear about your unbeaten singles match streak or any of that. I don’t seem to know why you are trying to portray yourself as someone that can’t be beat. Well it’s time that you wake up Jasta. Everyone on this damn roster can be beaten. So you can keep thinking about dismantling me in the ring, but when it comes time to wrestle, you better do what you are thinking. Jasta, you betta not let some rookie who isn’t "good enough" beat you man. Let me tell ya if I do beat ya, you will prolly be embarrassed because of all the smack talk you’ve been doing. So I’ve seen you back up you talk in the past so now it’s time to do it again. Don’t mess up later tonight man or it will be one sad night for "the great" Bryan Jasta.
