A Pure Challenge [Cade]

Tonight was the official airing of the Takedown Supershow. The crowds were filing into their seats in the arena. Soon enough everyone was ready for the show. As they sat in their seats they waited anxiously to find out what was going to happen next. Suddenly Chamillionaire’s Turn It Up begins playing so that all could hear. He fans rose to their feat as they knew who was about to make his appearance. The crowd still loved him after his showing at the Live show and that’s why he didn’t care whether he lost or won. Bryan Hanzell emerged from backstage and began his slow walk onto the main stage area. He was in his new wrestling attire and sporting a black t-shirt over. Smoke began to fill up the stage area as he stops and throws his hands up in the air. He crowd becomes louder as the cheers fill up the arena. Hanzell begins walking down the ramp listening to the crowds cheer his name. He stops walking down the ramp and signals for a water bottle and receives one. He continues on his walk down the ramp and around the ring. He takes a swig of water before climbing onto the mat of the ring. He stood there and looked into the eyes of all the fans before him. Before you knew it, he threw his arms in the air and sparks began falling down on him and in the ring. He entered the ring and began taunting for all the fans. Then he had completed the taunting and now signaled for a microphone. He received the microphone and walked to the center of the ring. The microphone was raised to about an inch away from his mouth as he began to speak.

I know you all saw what happened to me at the past Live show. The man known as Ethan Bain ended my short winning streak. I mean I put my all in the match and it seems that he was the better match of the two of us. Now I’m not gonna complain about that match at all. He got the job done and I didn’t. That’s it, that’s the end of the story. No complaints here because there is no reason to. With that said, that isn’t the reason why I’m out here.

The crowd cheers for him even though he had that loss.

No, the reason why I’m out here is because of something I want. Yeah…It is something that people would call…Pure. Yes that is right; Bryan Hanzell wants a shot at the XWA Pure Championship. I have wrestled in a couple matches and you’ve seen what I’ve got. I mean this title is open to everyone, but I’m not challenging for it because it’s an open title, I’m challenging for it because I believe I can take it off Kris Cade’s waist. You see I want to start making a name for myself here in the XWA. I started off by wrestling a couple matches and now I’m ready for a shot. With capturing my first XWA title, I believe that the road to being one of the best will truly begin. So Mr. Cade, please come down to the ring and accept my challenge.

The crowd erupts as Hanzell finishes up his sentence. He lowers the microphone down by his side. Will Cade answer his challenge? Hopefully he does because Hanzell knows that it’ll be a great match to be in and a great match to watch. So the wait begins now.

"Pride" blares over the PA, and "The Straight Edge Superstar" makes his grand entrance into the arena. He makes his way to the ring, with mic and the Pure Title in hand. As the crowd continues to cheer, Kris answers the challenge.

Since I've debuted in XWA, I'n seen and wrestled some top notch athletes. Ryan Zlabe. Austin Harris. King. Ron Atlas. Dare I say even Jonny Punch And Shawn Hollywood. I've seen victory, and I've seen defeat. But one thing always stands out. One thing that I strive for every time I lace up my boots. Competition. It's all I look for. It's all a dream of. being able to step in this ring and compete on a level above and beyond the norm. That's what it means to be "Pure". This title transcends this business, because to be Pure Champion means you're pound for pound the BEST. PERIOD. Not the best mat technician. Not the best High Flyer. Not the best brawler. Because there are no time outs. There's no leaving the ring to gather your bearings. There's no rope breaks. There's no "strategicly placed submissions" in the center of the ring. There's just two men, one on one, with the first man scoring a pin being the winner. Just how it was done back in ancient Greece and Rome.

Bryan Hanzell. I don't even need to say anything else about what you've done in your short time in XWA. Aside from the fact that we're cut from the same cloth. Two men with a passion for this business, and a passion for competition. So to you, my man. I say you're ON. You and me for the Pure Title. Tonight.

Mike: That's what I'm talkin' about there. Two guys with no ego or hidden agendas. Just a pair of up and coming legends in it for the love of the sport.

Buzz: And two guys with similar wrestling styles. We could be witnessing the begining to one of the greatest "pure" wrestling contests to date in XWA.

Kris awaits Bryan's reply.

Hanzell lifted the microphone up to his lips after listening to what Kris Cade had to say. Before saying anything he nodded his head to agree with what Cade had just said.

You know Kris I have to agree with what you just said. Matches aren’t about who can be the best at one thing. Matches are about the wrestlers that put their all into the match. Just like the match says, a pure match. One match that the one who wrestles with the most passion and desire will win. I don’t care if someone is better than me at one thing. You can be the best submissionist and I could be the worst. You could stick us in a Submission match, but the winner won’t be the best submissionist, it’ll be the one who puts the most heart in the match. I have to agree with you we are two men with the passion for wrestling. This match will be one of the best that will be put on for these fans. I can’t wait for this match to happen. The XWA Pure Champion Kris Cade versus Bryan Hanzell for the XWA Pure Championship. Pure match rules and a pure wrestling match it will be. Good luck Kris.

Same to you, Bryan. Same to you.

Kris extends his hand to Bryan.

Hanzell looks down at the extended arm of Kris Cade. Hanzell then too extended his hand out to Cade. He firmly grabs the hand of Cade and begins shaking up and down. The cheering from the fans pick up as they watch the two in the ring shake hands. The match was truly going to be one of the best the XWA has seen. Two wrestlers that will put it all on the line for a great match, you can’t get any better than that. Hanzell then releases the hold and stares into the eyes of Kris Cade. Later tonight the two will step into the ring and put on a great show for all the fans to watch. Hanzell begins nodding his head as he knows this will probably be one of the greatest matches he will step into and be apart of. Soon after, Turn It Up begins playing again as Hanzell steps out of the ring. He walks back up the ramp as the fans cheer louder and louder. No it wasn’t only for him; it was for Kris Cade also. He returns to the stage area and looks down at the ring one last time. He looks at the title that rests on Cade’s shoulder. He thought of what it would feel like to hold an XWA title. He turns and pushes the black curtain aside. He then disappears into the backstage area.
