The King is no more...
by Chris Lionheart
After a long road, with many twists along the way, the King of Crimson title belt which I created is active no more. Starting out life in my former The New Blood Wrestling company, and brought into XWA after being stolen by Prime, the 'KOC' title is a title over which wars were waged. Of course there was the initial war between Prime and myself, and although I took a few beatings, I was able to regain possession of the belt in the end. Then the belt caused a few casualties as my one of my future opponents found himself on the unemployment line before I had the chance to bury him in a 'Buried Alive' match. Finally at XGames, I fought Enrique for the right to bring the title into XWA once again. Unfortunatley for Enrique I triumphed at XWA's 'grand-daddy-of-them-all' PPV last season, and the KOC Title stayed around my waist.
Now is the time for looking ahead, with the best interests of XWA at heart. The KOC title, and it's lineage, has been absorbed into the newly created Gen-X title belt which will be debuted at the beggining of next season. The double edged sword and quite frankly, crying shame, for me personally is that I won't be eligble to compete for the Gen-X title. This is because this year I am switching up my moves arsenal, and will not be using the type of offense that would allow me to compete for the Gen-X strap. But hey, that's where the OTHER belt I a hand in creating, the Pure Title comes into play. For those that remember, I created the PRO Title, and brought that into LXW (the spiritual successor to the XWA). The 'Pure Title' is an offshoot, or rather an evolution, of the philosophy behind the Pro title.
I wish you all a happy and healthy dose of competition in XWA's distinctive and unique belt divisions next year. Me? I'm finally looking at taking on XWA's 'big guns', and going after the World title that I was eligiable for last year but never persued.
