Time To Get Real (Cosette Grace)

TakeDown's second show comes to us from Storrs, CT, and already it was shaping up to be another awesome showing by the men & women of the XWA. Jamie Fury had made her way to the arena pondering exactly how it was that she was going to get things going for herself in 2008 when it was that a gift horse of sorts fell into her lap. It was only a few minutes of settling in and wandering the halls that she was apparently approached by one the XWA crewmembers. The man gave her a message that would set her to action. The program had now gone to a commercial break and before long Fabiola had came along with a cameraman.

Three, two, one...action!

Fabiola: Welcome back XWA fans. Right now I'm standing alongside of XWA newcomer Jamie Fury. Jamie, there's some news that you have to share with the fans isn't there?

That there is. It appears that just moments ago that I was asked to issue a challenge, a special challenge tonight against a former champion. The first XWAPearl Champion in history Cosette Grace. Now I understand your playmate Addison Grey flew the coup. I don't care about the details, all I care about it the result. That result right now is that you find yourself without a match this week, and so do I. So how do you say we fix that situation? Simple. You and me, one on one tonight.

I saw you in the ring last week in that Triple Threat match and I do have to say that you're a thinking woman's wrestler. You seized the moment and got a win that was well deserved. You've proven your worth in the XWA, you're the first woman to hold the Pearl Title, and I've got nothing but respect for that. It would be my pleasure to meet you in the ring tonight in my first official XWA match. All you need to do is accept this offer and the show will go on.

I don't do schizo-acts though. I'm not about the head games or the comic relief Cosette. Jamie Fury is as real as it gets and I have a mission in this company: to be the absolute best. The only way I'm getting there is by facing off against the best and you happen to be one of them. So...don't get out of your ring gear just yet because I'm all business, and if your all business then accept this match and lets get down to business tonight.

Fabiola: Well, an impromptu challenge by Jamie Fury here tonight for one Cosette Grace. Will she accept the match, we'll see later on tonight.

I don't think that'll be necessary Fabiola.

Comes a voice from just out of frame. Soon Cosette, still dressed to wrestle and looking a little out of sorts at the news, strolls up next to the two women and positions herself close enough to Fabiola to get some mic time.

So, once again I find myself without a dance partner, adrift in a sea of uncertainty until you come along. Let me first say, welcome to XWA.

Quite the position they've put you in, isn't it? Getting roped into a match with little old me on your first night on the job.

Well Jamie, I'd heap praise back on you at this point, but as you said this is the beginning for you, you're an unknown quantity, but as I'm sure you know I'm smart enough not to let that trip me up. Just as I've promised everyone before you I won't underestimate you. I know, by the very virtue of you standing here on this show and out in that ring, what to expect going into this and it's what I always expect, stiff competition that will require every tool I have in my arsenal to win.

If you want to do business then I'm perfectly willing. I accept your challenge and I plan to make this one more step on the road back to the gold although I've been told Platinum is more my color.

She gives them both a little smile as she stands waiting to hear what was coming next.

Just as was expected and anticipated Cosette wasted little time in making her presence known and in even less time she came and readily accepted Jamie's challenge to her own delight and certainly that of those in attendance who was looking forward to Cosette's originally planned match for sure.

Thanks for the warm welcome there Cosette. Now I'm pretty sure that it wouldn't be too long before you decide to move up in the world and shoot for the coveted Platinum, but while you're here you might as well put yourself to work right? The way I see it it's a win-win situation for both of us.

You get to entertain your fans and right out of the chute I get to mix it up with one of the Diamond Division's best competitors. I'm very much looking forward to the opportunity of taking you to the limit between those ropes. You should expect nothing less than that. Just the one thing though, I'm not just one more step Cosette. I have every intention of not being just a step for you or anyone else in the Diamond Division, but a whole journey. One long walk down one rough path that's gonna be chock full of both bumps and bruises alike. You should expect nothing less than that either.

So, the deal was done and she'd at least be working that night. Grace nods satisfied as Jamie finishes.

Well then Jamie, I suppose I couldn't ask for much more could I? I think after tonight I'm ready for the journey. I guess we'll just have to see how far each us us gets, won't we? Now, if you'll both excuse me I suppose I have another match to get ready for.

She gives a quick nod to both women before turning and heading back to where she came from. She had a long night ahead of her against a wild card opponent and she'd have to be mentally ready for the challenge if she wanted to survive.
