Bio:
Paige Phillups, one of the most dominant females in all of WLW, has decided to follow long time friend and tag team partner Heather Fierhart to XWA. Born in Fresno, CA, Paige and her family moved to Los Angeles when she was 13. It was there in middle school that she befriended Heather, and they've been best friends ever since. As a teen, Paige was a definite tomboy, compared to the at times "prissy" Heather. Proof that opposites attract. When the girls turned 17, Paige made the choice to begin training under Heather's legendary father. She'd always been fascinated with Heather's family "business", and it didn't hurt that she had a secret crush on one of Heather's brothers, Raymond. Not wanting to be left out, Heather began training a little as well, but it wouldn't be until Heather was 21 that she began to hone the skill that has made her an icon in women's wrestling. The fact still remains that despite the success Heather has had in her career, it's Paige that's the more skilled of the two as a fighter.
At 20, Paige chose to head overseas to Japan, where she continued to train, and wrestled for the GAEA organization. It's in GAEA that she would face the woman who would become her greatest rival, Holly Woodz. Paige was a mainstay in GAEA until it closed it doors in 2004. This was around the time that Ultra Pro Wrestling (UPW) formed GLOW Wrestling. (Now Women's League Wrestling/WLW) Many notable females were involved in GLOW, the likes of Crystal Bayless, Nicole Roland, Synergi, and the legendary Mara Glist. Heather was also making her wrestling debut in the company, as while Paige was in Japan, Heather had been manager of Dru Nedermeyer. For the 1st time in there careers, they were in the same company, and a team up between the two friends was inevitable. From this, the tag team "Blond Ambition" was born, and they would become the most dominant tag team in WLW history, having a nearly two year run as Tag Team champions.
Paige's 1st singles title would come in mid 2006, as she would face fellow Fierhouse alum Ayumi Hasegawa for the Continental Title. Her 1st challenger would be an old friend, Holly Woodz, who had recently joined WLW at the time. She would defeat Holly in a war, but at her next defense against Aimee LaBlanc, Holly would interfere, costing her the title. Conveniently enough, Aimee would loss the title two months later to Holly, and Paige came calling. Yet again, Paige bested Holly, winning back the title many say she should have never lost. After she lost the title in December 2006, she turned her focus to the World Title, which was held by Nicole Roland. It took Paige two tries to best Roland, but she would win her first World Title in February of 2007. She would remain champion until June, when she was beaten by Crystal Bayless. She's continued to put on strong showings since then, and remains one of WLW's top stars.
What prompted Paige to become a Diamond? One word: Competition. The best female wrestlers in the world are XWA Diamonds. So it would only make sense that Paige makes her way to the company. And so starts the XWA chapter of the career of Paige Phillups.
