Since his wrestling debut back in 2001, Ryan Fierhart was destined for big things. The youngest sibling of the Fierhart Clan, Ryan for years spent his career in the shadow of his legendary brothers. 2007 would be the year that he began to cast his own shadow. Upon signing with XWA in early February, Ryan set his sights on finally making a name for himself solo. Though he was joined in XWA by brother Simon, and eventually his sister Heather as well, Ryan's goal was to final live up to the family tradition of excellence. And there's no question that by years end he done so and then some. It all began at the very 1st show of XWA's existence, where he and his brother would team up versus the mysterious Vasily Rasputin and the man in whom would become his arch enemy, Scott O'Dell.
From that one match sparked what is XWA's most iconic rivalry. The two men would meet in the ring again just a week later in a singles contest spurned by O'Dell's heated words. A contest that Ryan won yet again. The next time they would step in the ring would be at XWA's second PPV, March Madness. This time however, O'Dell was World Champion, and Ryan No.1 contender. In a hard fought battle, Ryan was bested by O'Dell. This of course would not be the last time they would square off, as there rivalry lasted for the better par of 7 months. Back and forth they dueled, with one getting the upper hand on the other each time. Ironman Matches, Thunderdome Matches, Prison Break Matches, It didn't matter. Both men were hellbent on solidifying who was the better between the two. To this day, the head to head series sits at 5-4 in favor of O'Dell, but the rivalry, just as there careers, is far from being over.
But O'Dell wouldn't be the only Rival Ryan would encounter. Also during the course of the season, he would go to war against the mysterious and disturbing man known as Jussi. In there 1st battle, Jussi dominated the unsuspecting Ryan to the point that even he was amazed. Ryan would demand a rematch the week after, winning that contest barely. Jussi proved a formidable foe in more ways the one. The rubber match would come by way of a Last Man Standing Match. Ryan eventually won, but not without a fight.
Later in the season, he would find a new rival in that of one of O'Dell's closest Allies, Osiris Alston. Towards the middle of the year, they met in a singles match from which Alston dominated from Bell to Bell. It didn't sit well with Ryan that he'd been bested by a man who didn't even compete a full season, and upon Alston's return, he demanded another match. Lightning would strike twice, as Alston beat him again. The same happened in the next two matches wrestled against Alston, who seemed to have his number even more then O'Dell did. This prompted the battle at XgamesI, where Alston broke character in a challenge with new comer Lionel Xander by his side. Ryan would answer the call with long time friend and tag team partner Dylan Bates, and in a tag team classic, Ryan would finish off Xander with his signature "Ryansault" for the win. Though he'd won the match, the fact still remains that he's yet to pin Alston in his career. A fact he plans to rectify in 2008.
As the new season draws near, Ryan prepares to return with a new bag of tricks. During the offseason, he returned to Los Angeles to undergo vigorous training with his Eldest brother Alex, and is now in the best shape of his career. Poised to make good on his own personal goals, and take his wrestling to the next level, Ryan Fierhart is ready to leave his mark once again in XWA.
