Because of his impressive showings as Pure Champion, it was a no brainer that XWA management decided to put him in as #1 contender to face then World Champion Keith Wyle ay Only The Strong. However, before this match, Cade would face the man who has quickly become his sworn nemesis, Primo Valiante. In a show of "pure" skill, Cade would defeat Primo in two consecutive matches, a feat that hadn't happened to Primo his whole career. This gave Kris some much needed momentum heading into the World Title match, but Keith's momentum was a little greater. The loss served as a reminder that he still had work to do, but he was almost certain he'd get another shot in due time. It would the the events following OTS that would shape a new direction in Cade's XWA career.
Back stage after the Title match, Cade was assaulted by both Jonny Punch AND Primo, who had seemingly joined forces to see his end. The next week back in the US, Cade challenged both men to a match. A Tag match. But Cade wouldn't be alone, To the ring to join him was Evan Fate. The match was won by Fate scoring the win on Punch, which set up another encounter between Cade and Primo one on one at Devil's Night. This time, Primo would be the victor. It would continue into the next and final month of XWA 07, as they would face off again in a 6 man Steel Cage match seeing Cade team again with Fate and one time rival Jimmy Ames versus Primo, Punch and the returning Nigel Sledge. The match was lost by Cade's team, but the war was far from over. Primo would challenge Cade at XgamesI in MSG to what was one of the greatest wrestling matches ever recorded on American soil, XWA's 1st King's Road match. A match that tests the mind, body and will of the men who compete in it. This time, It was Primo once again who was victorious, essentially tieing the lifetime record between the two men 3-3.
Fresh off the heels of being a semi-finalist in the 2008 GWGP, Cade enters the 2008 season with renewed focus. His eyes are firmly set on making vast improvements on his rookie season in XWA. With intentions of not only becoming World Champion, but perhaps even another run at the title he made famous, Cade is ready to deploy once again. However, he knows that his rivals will still be hot on his heels. 2008 will be an interesting year indeed for him, but he's ready, willing and able to show to the world once again why he's called "Critical Mass".
