The entrance theme of Kris Cade, Fort Minor's "100 Degrees" plays over the MSG PA system. Cade steps out from backstage fire up as usual. Tonight was the biggest night of XWA's freshman season, and Kris was more then poised to make due. On his mind was but one man. He enters the ring and calls for mic. Kris looks out to the crowd and starts his speech.

This is it, ladies and gentlemen. Xgames I. The BIG ONE. The night where XWA showcases the best it has to offer. So NATURALLY there was no way I wasn't gonna see myself on this card.

The crowd responds by cheering him on. Kris continues.

That being said, for the last two months I've been at odds with a man who can easily be considered one of the best of the best. A man who needs no intro. A I've become more then familiar with. Primo Valiante.

The cheers change to boos at the mention of "The Roman Crippler".

I know that you've been stacking the deck in your favor the last few months. Trying to find men who share in your twisted ambition. Well tonight, Ames and Fate have your flunkies MORE then occupied. Which leaves YOU and ME. That's what it's about tonight. You and me. One on one in this ring. But this time, it's not gonna be what YOU want it to be. No no, this time we do things MY WAY. We do this in MY match.

Buzz: Primo versus Cade in a PURE RULES match? That's HUGE!!!

Roach: You ain't kiddin', Buzz.

Pacing the ring, Kris speaks once again.

I know you're back there, Primo. Probably looking to hatch another scheme. Well hatch your big Italian ass out here and LET'S DO THIS!!!

Kris looks to the entrance and waits for the arrival of Primo.

Primo enters the arena accompanied by no music. The fans boo him at the moment they see him. With mic in tow, Primo takes a long look down the ramp to the ring, With a scowl on his face, he addresses Cade.

You HONESTLY must take me for a foll, Mr. Cade. Even I know to face you in a Pure Rules contest is the recipe for defeat. But at the same time, I have NO INTENTIONS on backing down. Tonight, there may be no TRUE resolution, but I WILL prove without doubt, quarrel OR fail that I AM the superior wrestler. So in that, I offer to YOU a match. We'll keep your precious Pure Rules in tact. But we add into things a little thing I MYSELF enjoy...

KING'S ROAD RULES.

The crowd's reaction was just what Primo had intended...

WHOA WHOA WHOOOOOOOOOOOOA!!! Pure King's Road rules??? How the HELL would that work???

I can only guess it's a hybrid of both styles. No ring outs, no rope breaks, and the only way to win is either submission OR 10 count KO. I can't think of a more brutaler contest, Buzz.

Contest??? This match may as well take place in an OCTAGON!!!

Primo's scowl turns to a smirk as he sees Cade's reaction. King's Road matches were the kind of matches Primo was bred on. A sheer test of skill, conditioning and true barbarism.

Primo awaits the response of Cade.

Kris stands pondering Primo's counter to his challenge. He'd heard of King's Road matches, but never thought he'd ever be in one. But Kris was never one to shy from a challenge. King's Road/Pure Rules meant that both men would pretty much be on even terms. A combination of both there signature matches. Cade raises his mic to respond in two simple words...

YOU'RE ON!!!

Kris' music plays over the PA. He stands with focused eyes on Primo. This would be a true test of skill and will. Kris was indeed up to the task.

Primo looks on with a satisfied smirk. He laughs to himself as he gives Cade on final glance before heading backstage. No further words were needed. All that was left was action. And Primo intended to show more then his fair share.
