Red Sam begins to play over the PA at MSG, and for the second time in the year, Jon Payne steps out to the sol out New York crowd that cheers his arrival on. The man is taken aback at the resounding applaud from these people, some of the most loyal and most opinionated fans in the entire world, no matter what sport you choose. He slowly makes his march towards the ring giving fives to the fans as he walks down the ramp and then up the steps at ringside.

BuZZ: It just wouldn't be the biggest show of the year without one of XWA's benchmarks in attendance. I can't believe the rumors going around that said that Payne wasn't going to show up!

Roach: Well, let it be known that the ONLY insider info that can be trusted is the info that WE supply to all of you fans each and every week. Payne is here with bells on people, the question is what's his order of business tonight for X-Games? Well, he's got a mic now so I guess we'll find out right now...

Let's backtrack a bit New York. All the way back to February of this year, in this very ring in this very building. I'm sure a lot of you were either here in attendance or watching on TV. February 2007 is when it all began-the spectacle that is known now far and wide as the XWA. You know back then there were plenty of people who were writing this all off as an attempt to rekindle old glory of the last wrestling promotion that graced this city. Some even called it an "experiment". Even now you have though insignificant little internet trolls that spout off their little rants and raves like their walls of text actually matter. What a difference a few months make, huh?

Thanks to the hard work and dedication of each and every man and woman in the back who put themselves on the line in this ring, and thanks in part to each and every one of you who've supported this from the very beginning, we stand here once again on the precipice of the biggest night in sports entertainment, XGAMES!!! You all should give yourselves a round of applause people, without you this all wouldn't be happening, thank you!

Payne the proceeds to applaud the fans, his fans, XWA's fans.

Now, it just wouldn't be the biggest show without one of the biggest names in this business on the card now would it? Let's face it folks, whether you like me or not, whether you agree with it or not, I am everything that is good about this business, period. I come out here week in and week out and I do what I'm paid to do-and do it pretty damn well. That brings us to last week in Newark-TakeDown...and an old school PRO Rules match against my good friend Brent Starr.

Brent, I know that NYC probably isn't the safest place for you to be in these days...I know that there's probably only 1.5 Starr fans in this audience right now, and I know that you probably have 10,000 things you'd rather do this weekend aside from get beat by me again. History will still say that you have a one-up on yours truly, 2-1 in fact...but last week was satisfying nonetheless for me in that I basically proved a point that I pretty much prove EVERYTIME I step into this ring, that I am the untouchable one. You might get the drop on me once, or even twice in your case, but between these ropes with a ref in the corner, beating Jon Payne is something that very few, and I mean VERY few can accomplish.

I guess that means that you're a special breed of wrestler then, huh? Just like say...Syrus Sykes. I remember OTS like it was yesterday Sy- the "Gladiator Match"...a pretty innovative contest if I do say so myself. If it were any other match Sykes, you would've been beaten about 3 times over as many PayneKillers and Magnums I hit you with, but alas pinfalls weren't legal and you got a lock on a Dragon Sleeper that netted you the win. Lately I've been coining the phrase "No Excuses" seeing as everyone who I happen to knock down a peg or two seems to come up with like a BILLION of them, but I have none for that night, and in that respect I have the one-up on you 2-1.

I think you're all starting to see where this is going now aren't you? This is the big time, this is the big show, so why not have ourselves a big match...a Triple Threat match?

The PWNdozer...The System...The Evolution. That sounds like a good night of wrasslin' to me. Simple and straight to the point...the question now is whether or not the two of you are willing to get out here and punch-in for work or are you gonna sit back and collect those royalty checks instead. We all know that the XWA money is pretty plentiful, but it's not all royalties, some of that comes from hard labor.

And so he stands awaiting the response from one or both rivals...

It's not a long wait as almost immediately "This Is War" begins to play to a chorus of boos from the New York audience as Brent Starr makes his way out and halfway down the entrance ramp before stopping. Providing the ring for Payne & the stage for Syrus Sykes.
As he waits for the boos to die down, he raises his mic and speaks, addressing Jon Payne, his rival, and the New York crowd.

Ya know how the saying goes.
Beat me once, shame on you.
Beat me twice, shame on me.

I'm not going to take away from your earned and deserved win, but you and I both know, aswell as every single person around the world who watched the match, that THAT was not a typical Brent Starr performance. You could almost assume I just mailed in my half of the match. Even when I was in control, taking you from one side of the ring to the other with sheer dominance... that wasn't me either. It was almost as if someone else was behind the wheel.

Case in point.. I laid you out atleast 4 times where I could have pinned you, but I didn't need to win. I didn't need to pin you, or beat you. I was there to make my point and make a statement. It's not who WINS the match, but what happens IN the match. Jon, IN the match, I had you beat, several times. You had me down with, what was it, 4 of your pretty paynekillers? Each time, I kicked out. You couldn't keep me down with your finishing maneuver. Don't you think that says something Jon? Don't you think, maybe, just maybe, you need to rethink your choice of poison for your kill? A new finisher maybe?

Regardless, whats done, is done, and you won. Congrats, you were the better man last week.

And as for the other man, the leader of "The System" Sylas Styles
wait...wait wait wait. Nope, thats not who it is, that would be an honor to wrestle him in this match aswell.
"The System" Syrus Sykes? Is that who he is?
Yeah.. well he can come play too. I don't care about him, he don't matter to me, he matters to you. But if I must speak about him, I will.

He clears his throat before continuing

If you ask me, coming into a company with a name so closely resembling a member of the roster, is stupid, asinine and shows the lack of originality on his behalf. Coming in with a close resembling name, and a nickname thats synonymous with the same person, thats downright despicable, disrespectfull and should be punishable by death, or PWN, whatever makes the crowd eat it out of my hand even more.

Thirdly, just to rub some salt in the open wound I got going. I remember The System being a group in 2 former companies. OCW, where Sylas himself started it, and then over in the

Yeah, thats right. I broke the golden rule. XWA doesn't want the fans or the other wrestlers, to know about other rival companies, and the one I just named, was public enemy number one. But over there, in Detroit, The System was a group formed by Shayne Pain, Taarja Siri and a tag team which doesn't really matter at this moment. So again, this Syrus character, is a knockoff, ripoff, waste of space and time.

And if XWA officials wanna fine me, or fire me for what I just said, they can go right ahead. Nullify my contract if you must, I don't care. I came here to shoot the truth, and I've done that. Count yourselves lucky I pulled my punches.

I mean, I could come out here, and talk out my ass, apologize for a bunch of bullshit thats gone on, the disrespect, how people around here spit in the face of greater talent that they wish they could be near on the importance scale. I could apologize for that, but we all know, what I say, I mean. And I mean what I say. So for me to take back the things I've said, would be a farce, and complete lie. You'd all know it's bullshit right? Exactly!

So what it all comes down to is this. I'm going to the parking lot. If I get called in for my match, so be it. I'll come out and go out of XWA in a blaze of glory. If I'm not, then so be it. I'll know, the fans will know and the world will know that the company that preaches no limits, no holding back and no censorship.. censored the man who spoke the truth with his freedom of speech.

So, one way or another. Goodbye!

And with that, to a chorus of boos and the singing of "Nana na na, nana na na, hey hey hey, goodbye" Brent Starr leaves the ramp and makes his way to the place he said he was going. To his car in the parking lot where he'll wait to either fight his last match, or know he can move on with a clear head and conscience

Wait, wait, wait...hold on one god-damn minute!

Suddenly Syrus pops up onto the jumbotron standing in the parking lot to mixed reviews from the NYC crowd. At this stage in the game it was really hard to read the man, could he be trusted? Was he really one of the good guys now? Well after Starr's words he certainly wasn't in a good mood that's for sure.

You my man are are standing out here whining about a NAME!?

*Pause*

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

*After 20 seconds of non-stop laughter he comes back to his sense just a bit, enough to get back to addressing the issue.

Oh my damn, if that's not the single funniest thing I've ever heard in my entire life then I don't know what is, partnah! I mean wait, is this like one of those bloooper shows? Where's Jamie Kennedy at, man? You must be trying to "X" the whole audience right now, cuz if you're actually serious about that garbage then what can I say but you damn sure got the "entertainment" in sports entertainment down pat, dude.

You say you don't know me? That's fine cuz I sure as hell don't know you either. Furthermore, I have no idea who the hell you're talking about. Maybe some of the fans know, maybe Payne knows, but I damn sure don't and I don't bother to learn either. That's the bottom line right there, homie...it ain't where you from it's where you at, and where you at right now is standing around bitching and moaning, whining and complaining. There's DIAMONDS with more gumption than you my man and I can say that with no hesitation.

What you got, Starr? What you did? No wait, lemme rephrase, what you did here!? See by adding one word we saves ourselves from an A&E Biography about how you've done all this stuff for all these other places. Why ain't you there then, Starr? Wait, I did research there too, and your last two big stomping grounds are both CLOSED, ain't they? The ones where you earned all of your glory, all of your titles?

You might think that you have an up on me, but the truth is Mr. "Reality Check" that here, you and I are right on the same level. Two squirrels tryna get a nut. Only thing is one of us is actually working for his while the other thinks that that if he bitches enough that someone's gonna throw him one. I'm not knocking your steelo, man...you're good in the ring, out of it though you ain't shit. Just another overrated, over-privileged mama's boy. What you gonna say, dog? "Win a world title and then talk?" There's only a handful of world titles in this business right now that mean a damn thing and you ain't even close to touching one let alone winning one, so I think I'm much better shape than you are. You wanna go off like you did last week with Payne about how that title, THE title doesn't mean nothing? Tell that to the rest of the boys who're busting their asses to get their shot at it. They'll call you a damn fool, and I don't have time for damn fools. So if you'll excuse me son, I have a match to get ready for here. You on a professional level can jump in that ride of yours right there and bounce yo' ass on outta here then. I'd say you're finished but hell, you never even started! Who's fault is that? Whateva man, cuz on a personal level...I don't really give a fuck.

And with that Syrus steps off camera, showing a good view of Starr's ride whom he had been standing in front of the entire time.

Payne still stands in the ring, as with much of the MSG crowd...puzzled.

OK, that was productive, now wasn't it? Well, my guess would be that's a yes from both parties...I guess. Um, well...wow. Kinda hard to follow up something like that isn't it, thanks for stealing the spotlight there Sykes, yeesh. I don't even have a retort to Starr there myself, seeing as it's just more excuses anyway...wait, I think I just did retort didn't I? Sometimes I amaze even myself. Good to see that you can talk the talk as well as you can walk the walk though Syrus, it'll be interesting seeing if your ring skills have gotten any better too and Brent...well, whatever.

All that's left now I guess is to get ready for the match. Oh yeah, what's a Payne promo without a catchphrase right? Well...alrighty then, It Is...you know.

Payne sets his mic down and proceeds up the ramp now to get set for what's sure to be an interesting night.
