Post by "The R*" Robby Sylk on Nov 26, 2007 22:47:38 GMT -5
Backstage at XGames, Fabiola stands by with The R*Star... Fab: I'm here standing with one of the men who will be in the Main Event tonight for the XWA World Title, or as you call it "The Last Dance" Robby Sylk. Now last week you came out and had some choice words about your opponents, but in the end you kinda came up short. My first question is what makes you think tonight is going to be any different? Robby scowls at the Latin lovely before he responds. What makes me think that you say? A couple of things if you must know. First and foremost, I didn't come up short last week. In fact, I wasn't even pinned in that Triple Threat match. Granted that I could break up the pin that Comic Boy put on the Black Hercules, but hey...you win some you lose some, right? WRONG!!! I didn't lose last week, and this week, here tonight, XGAMES, Madison Square Garden, New York City, the MECCA of sports entertainment...not only am I not going to lose tonight, by George, Fabs...I'm gonna WIN!
Robby Sylk tonight takes his place rightfully atop the XWA where he belongs. Tonight the Sylk Era officially begins when The Last Dance ends, and this company gets themselves a World Champion who's slicker, who's smarter and who's better than any who came before him. Now I got nothing but love for them, but let's face it baby, I'm just on a level that few can even dream to reach. Robby Sylk is untouchable, pure and simple.Fab: Gotta love that over-confidence there, Robby-boy. Don't you think you're underestimating your opponents just a bit? Underestimating? Pffft...please, girl. I got a good taste of what Devlin and XXL can do last week, and it's not a big revelation to say that I wasn't impressed. As for our illustrious champion, he got his "L" courtesy of that big freak Kayn last week of TakeDown, a man I know a little something about. Keith, if you can't knock off the second-tier guys, there's no way, and I mean NO way that you can even hold a candle to the glory, to the greatness, to the sheer AWESOMENESS that is the R*Star Robby Sylk.
Tonight is a battle royal, that means no lucky breaks. No opportunistic pins like what Devlin pulled off last week. Tonight you put your own work in. Every man for himself. That's right up my alley Fab cuz as you and the rest of the world knows by now, Robby Sylk knows a little something something about SURVIVAL. It's the reason why I'm here in this match in the first place and you better believe that I'm cashing in that spot tonight for a nice little strap of leather, diamonds and platinum. That bad-boy is comin' with me tonight ladies and gentlemen....and there's only two thing you can do about that: nothing or like it!Sylk's interview is then pre-empted by the appearance by another of the the "final four"...

None other than the Champ comes into view with a "Wyle Style" Tee and the Championship Strap on his shoulder. The crowd comes alive as he looks at "The R* Star" with a smirk..
So it's your time huh? it's your destiny to hold this title
Lifting the strap higher on his shoulder, he begins to chuckle
forgive me for not giving that statement the proper respect
Keith then leans his head back and let's out a nice loud bellow for a moment before coming back to the mic
I'm sorry Fabs, how are you tonight?
Just fine champ, so how do you respond to what Robby said earlier, I mean you did lose a match, how is that gonna affect you performance tonight?
Keith smiles again as he looks straight at Robby
It won't, I never has affect how I put on a show when the light are on bright and strap is on the line..
The crowd cheers as Keith continues
If you look at my track record when it comes to title matches....I've most often then not I've lost the match before...and do you know why that is Ruby? simply put regular Wyle Style and the Championship edition are two different things.
BuZZ: He's got a point....
Roach: The Wyldman does kick it into another gear when the title is on the line, no doubt about that
Regular Wyle Style is me coming out and putting on a helluva show for the fans in the stands
The Fans respond in kind
And Championship Wyle Style is about Me.....it's about my desire to hold on to this strap, it's about the pride that comes with being a champion. It's about me finding a small opening, a loophole whatever it takes to keep this belt on me, are you ready for that Ruby? I mean let's face it, you won the tag titles meaning you've been midcard for a minute....I've been in the main event many times, as matter of fact the last main event title match was a battle royal and I do believe I won that one too.
The fans continue to make it loud for The Champ
As matter of fact I made the last two eliminations....by Making one former world champ tap and dropping the other on his head, hmm last time I checked that's not luck, the would be the textbook definition of Skill, but you would know I mean you are the Soul Survivor, I mean it takes real skill to piggyback on a team to the top...

Almost as if the whole sequence was already scripted , XXL emerges into the scene as Wyle gets done talking as the crowd at ringside cheer on the hometown boy.
Now now, champ...I wouldn't downplay what Sylky pulled off at Soul Survivor. I was in that match too and it was definitely a unique experience to say the least. He earned his pot in this match, we all did in our own ways.
I'm not gonna make any excuses for last week on TakeDown. Devlin hit the right move at the right time, he does that tonight and he walks out the champ, simple as that. You're right about one thing though Rob, tonight is all about putting in your own work. Tonight is about the last man standing in the biggest match of our careers on the grandest stage of the year. It's a lot of hard work and opportunity that brings us to this point in time, and that slogan that XGames has, "Saving The Best For Last"...well it applies to us now. Tonight when the dust settles and the smoke clears and all the rest of the business gets done, it's gonna come down to four men in one ring for the top spot in this company. This right here is where many strive to be but few can reach.
Now I hear you talk about how you step it up a notch Keith, about how you turn it up when it's big match time. We all know I was the first to get a taste of that "Championship Wyle Style" months ago. Don't think I forgot that night, and don't think that just as much as you're gonna bring it harder and better than ever before, so are we. The fans demand nothing short of the best of the best and I know for a fact that's what it is that I'm bringing to the dance tonight, don't you worry about that, dog.
That said, he awaits a response.

It doesn't take long for Adam Devlin to make his appearance as well. Sporting his trademark "Fear Nothing" T-Shirt. Adam joins the other three men in the ring. He raises his mic to speak up.
You know, just once...ONCE I'd like to be able to see Fabs be able to walk up, ask a guy a simple question and not a long winded, BORING response on BLAH BLAH BLAH!!! SHEESH!!! But let me just say a few things about last week. You'd prbably expect me to be doing Barry Horowitz on picking up another win last week in a damn good contest. But am I??? Uh-uh. Not happening. Because last weeks match pretty much meant bupkis in the grand scheme of things. You see, I might have won last wekk, but this week, in "The Last Dance", I'm the underdog.
Fabiola gives Adam a puzzled look.
Underdog?
Yea. Take a look at the two men and the lady, Keith, XXL and Roberta here. They all share one thing in common that I don't. They've all been Champions. XXL a former National Champ, Sylky-boy a former Tag Team Champ and of Course the reigning Wolrd Champ. All of them have competed in championship caliber matches before. Closest I've been in so far is SECONDSHOT where I fell just two spots short of being National Champ myself. That makes me the underdog. But you know what ELSE that makes me?
He looks at the other three men.
That makes me the son of a bitch ALL THREE OF YOU need to be weary of. Because I've got my eyes set on being a champion. The WORLD champion. I've paid my dues. I've taken my lumps, and I'll be DAMNED if I don't get every ounce of my soul out there. You boys might be in this just to become top dog in XWA, but for me, this match means a HELLUVA lot more then just being champ. It means I completed a year long quest that at times looked pretty damn bleak for me.
He points to the belt on Keith's shoulder.
To me, that belt means more then just power. Or pride. Of status. That right there signifies that you're the one man in this company who WILL NOT YIELD. And that's always been me by default. And if I don't walk out of this arena champ, I'll at least know that I gave it a damn good try. Like I said before, last week was bupkis. This week...tonight...Xgames I...
It's GAME ON.

Imma have to correct you on one thing, Devlin. Underdog you're certainly not. I think we all have a good idea of what you've done and what you've gone through, and I can speak for myself in saying that I got nothing but respect for you. I don't make it a habit of under OR overestimating anyone in this company, that's just asking for a letdown if you don't happen to come out on top.
Tonight is gonna come down to who has that much more in the tank, who pours it on, who dishes it out the most and who takes the least. It really is a game of human chess gentlemen, and I think it's safe to say that every man standing here right now knows how to play the game pretty damn well, Fabiola. This time though, like Adam pointed out, it's for real. This isn't a warm-up, it's not preseason...it's the World Championship. This is what you strive for all year, the point that you work for your entire career. There are some out there who will never come close to this opportunity, so you know that when you have it you had better not waste it.
He waits for a response from anyone else...

Hoisting the world title higher on his shoulder as he begins to speak again
Make no mistake gentlemen this is the match everyone is looking forward too...not the Diamond Title match or ladies Tag match or O'dell and Jay-J's match or any other match on the card, this Match is the match of the night, of the year...
The crowd cheers as Keith continues
So all that needs to be said is Bring ya A Game, cause I'm bringing mine and then some
With that said Keith smirks at the other main eventers and at Fabiola
See you all in the ring
Roach: Well he seems confident
BuZZ: Why wouldn't he be Roachy? I mean The Wyldman has been champ for the last couple of months, he walked into the Devil's Playground against Five other men. Two of them former world champs and he walked out of that still the champ, he's beaten one of his challengers tonight...if that's not a reason to be confident, I don't know what is...
Roach: All valid points but the question still remains whether or not can the champ retain the title one more time and solidify his title reign and claim the title of one the longest reigning champs in XWA history?
BuZZ: Lemme answer that.....yes
