It would seem that the outcome at TakeDown! cemented Testudo's status within XWA: He's definitely staying, for now. A match that went on for over 15 minutes, leading to Bryan Jasta bloodied and defeated. Because of this outcome, Testudo had been added to the VERY shortlist of wrestlers defeating Jasta in a 1v1 contest. Would Jasta get revenge? Only one show will determine that.
Cue XGames: XWA's finale PPV. As a part of the agreement, Jasta has put his National Title on the line against Testudo. And to think, it all started with a little remark Jasta made against the Green Giant whilst he was the Pure Champion (and the oldest Pure Champion to date). A confrontation was bound to happen, which in turn created the TakeDown! match last month, and now, tonight's confrontation? Would the feud end tonight?
...Most likely not.
However, the title that's on the line would surely add ego to either man should he be victorious: Jasta can claim another defense to his list, whilst Testudo would be adding another title to his collection, and possibly become the oldest National Title champion at the same time. Either way, the end result would most likely be messy.
The silence of the arena was cut to threads by the immediate approach of "More" by Susperia. The fans rose onto their feet for the appreciation of their man of the hour, Testudo, who stepped onto the stage, ring-attire ready (minus handwrap) and microphone in his right hand. You could instantly tell there was a different attitude within the guy, which seemed to have first appeared at TakeDown!. Looking around at the audience, Testudo made his was slowly down to the ring, looking straight at it at all times. The victory over Jasta must've psyched him up for tonight, but he really didn't want to lose concentration now. Approaching the ring apron, the 6'11" giant clambered onto the apron and stepped over the ropes with ease. Turning back around to face the stage, Testudo began raising the microphone to his mouth, which in turn cued the fade out of More.
"Right now, I'm here to address one person, and one person only: Bryan Jasta."[/b]
A chorus of boos followed the mention of the current National Champion. Rather than acknowledging the response of the fans as usual, Testudo merely continued.
"Jasta, when you came out and issued the challenge, you gloated on at how you would be ending my career so soon. Cue the match. Remember what happened? Or did you suddenly decide to try and wipe it from memory? Here's a little reminder for you then: you LOST! A bloodied and beaten waste of talent left in the ring after I was done with you."[/b]
The crowd cheer for Testudo's mention of Jasta's loss.
"I remember you specifically mentioning how you went on to beating Evan Fate and Van Hayden, two excellent wrestlers. Whilst excelling in their own styles, what you had never faced was a true example of the wrestling tradition: ME. Before TakeDown!, all you could do before then was gloat and taunt. It seemed that all those efforts fell on deaf ears, as despite your low ways, claiming you would never stoop as low as Nick Jones, the traditional stands shone through, leaving your sorry ass down on the mat for the three count."[/b]
Well, it would seem Testudo is getting into his vocal habits.
"I guess the incentive of me going into retirement threw you off completely. I guess that's what happens when you make a deal you can't refuse. And now, here you are, ready to defend the title against me. No gimmick matches, no tricks, no unexpected swerves: just a straight-on 1v1 match for the National Championship. Think you got me mapped out sonny? Big mistake: I got plenty more where that came from."[/b]
After taking a quick break, Testudo continued.
"But enough of what I have to say for now. Jasta, I want you to bring your limping ass down here right now, and explain to all these people why you couldn't live up to your threat so far."[/b]
Lowering the microphone, Testudo stared at the stage, waiting for the arrival of the National Champion...
