As the poll indicates, I'm contemplating whether or not to turn off Rope Breaks for tag matches going forward. The direct result will be potentially shorter matches, since wrestlers won't have to drag an opponent to the center for a pin and would be able to hit submissions where applicable from anywhere in the ring.
The alternate approach- Method #2 is to keep the Tag Settings as is with the exception of have tag teams set to the default Showman package we use for CAWS before hacking their durability. Reason being: Tag teams take less damage than in a singles match because obviously they tag out, hence the 30+ minute matches since each wrestler needs to be worn down before even thinking of going for a pin. Either method will speed up that process, it's simply a matter of which method you'd like to use.

Here's a rather interesting idea, DO BOTH!!! That way the matches go for a decent amount of time, but at the same time the AI doesn't drag the limp carcass of the opponent to the middle of the ring all the time. I've simmed a few tag team matches that teams LOST because they kept dragging the opponent. I say we do both in XWA. It'll negate have 30 tag team matches like that Mobstaz/Burns match. Not that it was a bad match, but SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEIT, that's a big ass file to download, especially for us folks that actually watch ALLLLLLLLLLLL the matches on a given card, not just there own. (Imagine that?)

I've run test matches using both alternatives, and I do believe we've found something here. I've so far ran two matches, both went about 15+ minutes in length, and both were VERY entertaining. The went down to the wire. From my watching these matches, Tag Team matches will pretty much be won by whatever team gets BOTH members of the other team in red, as when a limb is in red, it hinders there movement, and they can't get in close enough to break up the pin. Coupled with having rope breaks off, it'll also add the element of what team gets a crucial pin closest to there own corner, so there partner can be in better position to intercept the other opponent from break up the pin, another dynamic that will make tag matches SUPER dynamic. I'll say this as a spoiler, one particular team is going to be a REAL tough out for the entire division. And it's NOT any of the returning teams from last year. Oh yes, that Tag Team division is going to be quite interesting this year. The best in ANY fed I may be so bold to say.

A valid point. LMAO. But yea, I think we'll be using both. I'll go ahead and pretty up a match for everyone's viewing tomorrow, so everyone gets an idea of how tag team matches will play in 2008.

It's already been decided that both methods will be used. I'll be posting video results of both ideas in tandem in this evening. I think everyone will enjoy it.

Just as long as the matches are entertaining and hot, it's fine with me.
