*This message applies more to senior members and veterans...*
This has been under consideration for a while now. As I've seen a similar method used elsewhere I've decided to implement it here in 2008-tougher scoring.
How this works is that as members pull away from the pack and score consistently high eventually making their way to the top of the board, it will be more and more difficult to gain those higher scores as we will be expecting for those members to really carry themselves and hence the XWA well. This means that if you don't maintain or EXCEED (which is what you should aim for anyway) the standards that you've already met previously there's a chance that someone will overtake you in the rankings.
The easiest way to achieve that goal is by carving your own path in the XWA. We are aware that there are enough people here who can do that and just as many who might need a little push here and there. Our job as staff is to help those who need it. If that's not you then you're expected to set the example that newer members and less experienced ones will aim to reach, and we (moreso I) will be watching to make sure you are on your game and scoring accordingly.
The goal in 2007 was to establish the league. I'm happy to say that we've done that and then some. The goal in 2008 now is to further establish yourselves.
