Upon browsing through YouTube I caught a few vids that show some of the moves that are available in SVR2008, and it's not much to hold your breath over. Aside from a nominal amount of new moves including Struggle Submission based finishers such as the Anaconda Vice, i see no reason to shy away from the system we have in place. Therefore this is the final official ruling on Finisher selection in 2008:
*Finishers can be shared by multiple members but approval will be at the discretion of the staff. If we feel that the change is just cosmetic you will NOT have your move changed. The following are valid reasons for a finisher change...
-Move ineffectiveness
-A DRASTIC character change (i.e., Face or Heel turn, new persona, etc.)
-Previous limitations in the 2007 move list.
Let me be very clear in saying this...if you change your finisher just because you want to change it, it will NOT be accepted in the XWA. Individual circumstances will also be taken in account on a member by member basis. Finisher changes must be of a relevant reason, or they will not be accepted.
*We have the right to DENY a finisher change for whatever reason. There will be as has been so in the past limitations on the use of "uber" moves such as the Pedigree and the Lashley Spear. This will NOT change. If we reach the point where it's being chosen by more than enough members it will be granted only to those who we choose to have them, all others will need to change to something else.
*Certain moves will be RESERVED for those who are considered "senior" members within the XWA. As a measure of thanks their moves will be absolutely OFF-LIMITS. Locked. Closed. Inaccessible until they change the move themselves or they are no longer in the league. The list of these members AND their moves will be posted when their moves are confirmed for their 2008 versions. If their sign-up dates are between Feb-Mar 2007 then you can consider their moves to be off limits.
**Note- if such a member needs to or decides to change their existing finisher, then the finisher they CHOOSE will be locked, and the old one will be open for usage. If you share a move with a senior member you will not have to change it.
We are encouraging for members to keep the moves they are using unless it is deemed necessary for them to be changed. All other accounts will be either taken into close consideration or thrown out entirely. Consistency is the key in the case of Finishers here, if isn't broke, don't try to fix it.
