Bring the Payne, or feeling the pain?

Hello everyone, it's Fabiola once again with another special guest. Last week on TakeDown you saw what turned out to be an amazing match between long time fan favorite Jon Payne and one of the most hated men in the XWA Today, "The Colossus" Steven Higby. Now even though Higby came out on top, his actions after the match, led by his agent Marshall Dane and fellow XWA low-life Nigel Slegde left the crowd at the Key Arena and the millions watching around the world shocked.

Well, that guest of mines today has a little bit to say about that "ambush", and probably a few other things as well no doubt. Please welcome Jon-Freakin'-Payne!!!

I've always wanted to say that, hee hee...

Well Jon, I guess I'll start with the most obvious question...how are you feeling right now?

[Jon Payne]

Well, the doctors said there was no serious damage done from the combination of the chair shot and the chokeslam, but they still suggested that I take the week off and come back 100% rather than go after those jerk-offs right away...

[Fabiola]

I'm sorry...the uh, DOCTOR said that? Like, all of it?

[Jon Payne]

Guess he must've been watching TakeDown huh? Heh Heh...

Make no mistakes about it, those three are going to get theirs. Everyone wants to try and make a statement in this business. Everyone wants to be the one that the audience pays attention to,, so they'll do whatever it takes to get that attention. The only thing that Marshall Dane and his two British bums did was get MY attention, and that's not always a good thing.

It's the same old story for me, Fab. Men know that when they cross paths with Jon Payne that they are instantly put in the limelight. If there's one guy in this industry who makes people famous, you're looking at him. Goes all the way back to that fine fateful day in the bingo hall of Ohio where another coward thought that he could make a name for himself by getting me jumped...only thing that's changed is the address, but the same thing applies here as it did there. Steven Higby wants to be thrust into the spotlight. He wants to be the center of attention, and like another bum around out there, the night that people "took notice" of him was the night that he somehow managed to pin my shoulders to the mat, or floor for that matter.

Every dog has his day...mine will come once again, it's that simple.

[Fabiola]

Well, Higby is 2-0 right now and more importantly, he kicked out of your finisher, The PayneKiller...some say like it didn't even phase him! You could see it in his debut match against Eric Rhodes as well...he's not "invincible" but it looks to many people like it's going to take a little something extra to beat him. Do you think that you have that something extra knowing now the fact that he has "people"?

[Jon Payne]

Well, first and foremost, the fact that a man who's over seven feet tall and somewhere in the mid-400lb range needs "people" is pretty freakin' pathetic. yeah, he kicked out of the PayneKiller, yeah he beat fair and square, 1-2-3, center of the ring. A real man would leave it at that, but it seems that Marshall Dane doesn't deal with men now does he? Hmph...that's not saying that Higby or Sledge are above men though, I think you hit the nail on the head when you called them low-lifes, let's face it...anyone who feels proud after doing something like what they did last week is lower than dirt.

But to answer your question...it IS going to take something extra to knock him off. Someone would have to reach down and dig for that extra gusto, that...special reserve, and I think I'm just the man for the job. Not taking anything away from the rest of the male roster of the XWA, but I doubt that right now anybody is mentally ready to face a guy like Higby. Physically of course, but mentally, no. You can't go into a match against him thinking that he's just another guy. I didn't do that then, and I wont do it the next time that I cross paths with him.

Next time, he wont have his "people" to help him out though, either...you just wait and see.

[Fabiola]

Hmmm...it sounds like you have something planned. Soul Survivor perhaps?

[Jon Payne]

I'm not telling yet. Let's just say that Steven Higby will have himself a chance to do what many men have failed to do throughout my career in wrestling, and if he CAN pull it off, he deserves more hype than all the rest of those wanna-bes out there and their canned heat.

But that's a big, BIG..."if".

[Fabiola]

I guess we will have to wait and see, won't we? You're not the type of guy to disappoint the fans, so I don't think our audience should be too concerned, hee hee...

Since I have you here though, I wanna talk about something else, couple of other things actually. First off, there was a challenge that you had made on your website aimed towards certain individuals in a fed based in the Midwest? What was the motivation for that, and has there been any word on it?

[Jon Payne]

Oh...that. No word yet, but it still stands to this day. Guess one of them might be too busy...running the place now, is he? Not like he hasn't been doing that all along, right? For the sake of Ms. Blackheart not getting a lawsuit here I'll be nice, but...yeah. Business is business, they've got theirs and we've got ours. This...that...whatever you want to call it, for them it might be personal, but for me, it's pleasure. Heck, I'd even donate my purse for that match to charity as a matter of fact, or even wrestle for FREE.

I never said that I was unstoppable, or unbeatable. Steven Higby proved that last week, but I did say...and WILL say that I am one of, if not the best in this business, and I will prove it anytime, any place against anyone. Not just them...but ANYONE out there who thinks they can play on my level. Detroit, Ohio, Toronto, frickin' Kalamazoo for all I care. You heard it here first folks...anyone, any fed, anytime. Who else but Jon Payne is the only one brave and stupid enough to do that? That's what separates me from the rest of the best, Fab.

One more thing. We have been seeing more and more of you being accompanied by XWA Diamond Kimberly Angelos? How is that relationship doing?

[Jon Payne]

Well, if you must know...we're doing just fine. She stayed behind in Japan after MayDay to catch up on old times, we both have a lot of history in that country. As soon as I'm done here, I'm flying back there to do some training for my Soul Survivor surprise, and she'll be right there with me.

She's a beautiful girl, and she's got a lot of fight in her as you've all seen so far in the XWA. When she gets back into competiton, the Diamond Division is gonna be in for a surprise of their own, that's all I'll say, heh heh...

[Fabiola]
