Chris Lionheart sits in a darkened room, a pool of light shining down on him, distorting his features. His face is the picture of seriousness.
I'm going to make this short and sweet.
You know… the memo went out for us all, as wrestlers, to show why we deserve to be in this match. What I’m going to do is go back to around 14 months ago. 14 months ago, I secured my spot in the main event of a company’s main PPV. Before I even got to that event, I was fired for going above and beyond the call of duty for the younger guys in this business. There was a time when I was bitter about that. I took it out on the young guys themselves. But soon enough I found myself banding up with them again to once more tackle a common foe. I guess I’m just a natural good guy, but I’m one with a back bone who’ll stand up for what’s right. I’m a company man. I’ll show up for every TV taping, house show, PPV, ready to fight; and motivate others.
I closed down TNB because I couldn’t run it, and I didn’t want it’s legacy tarnished. I closed it so I could come to XWA full time. I left TNB as the Tradition Champion. When I hold a title belt, I’m a fighting champion. I defend that belt in matches which allow multiple wrestlers, giving out as many opportunities to as many young wrestlers as I can. Just like at MAYDAY with the King of Crimson title.
A title which I made, I brought to XWA, and I allowed XWA to make an official XWA Title. I gotta admit that I’m a little banged up from that New Era elimination match, where I gave four other men the opportunity to get their hands on me – but I still want to fight in the best type of cage match known to man. The WarGames – The Match Beyond.
I know I deserve it, so all I’m asking for is the opportunity to finally, once and for all right some past wrongs that have been done to me. Allow me the opportunity to secure my spot in the main event of this company’s main PPV.
… And who knows? Perhaps the second time I step foot into a WarGames match here in XWA – It’ll be as part of a TNB VS. XWA match…
