As Firefly hits the PA, The crowd comes unglued as the reigning XWA Diamond champ makes her way into the arena. She's overwhelmed by the fans support in Japan. A sure fire sign that she's become a true icon in the sport. She makes her way to the ring, waving to her adoring followers. Once inside, she calls for a mic.
WOW!!! You guys are great. I can't thank you, the fans back in the states, and around the world for all the love you guys have given me. I do this for each and every one of you. Because I was a fan just like all of you once. I had a dream to become a wrestler, and I busted my hump to get as far as I had before XWA. Now, I'm seeing my hard work pay off every time I walk down that walkway and into this ring. But there's another woman in XWA who's paid her dues, but I think doesn't get the credit she deserves. And that's because no one really understands her. But all of YOU do. Because she's one of your own. XWA's Japanese representative, PRETTY FIGHTER SAYURI!!!
The crowd erupts in cheer as Sayuri's name is mentioned. In Japan, her following was seconded only by Baseball's Ichiro apparently. All over Tokyo, Ashley saw plenty of Sayuri posters promoting tonight's event.
Way back in February, It was Sayuri who was the last woman in the ring with me in the Diamond Championship Battle Royal. She could have just as easily become the first Diamond champ as I did. And I never got the chance to thank her for giving me one hell of a fight. Since then, we've gone our own ways. I've defended this title in some hard fought battles. She's had some tough losses herself, but last week I think we saw Sayuri turn the corner and finally put it all together. So that brings me to tonight. As Scott O'Dell pointed out on Takedown, there's a rule in XWA that affords a champion to name his or her own opponent at a PPV should no number #1 contender be chosen. And I'm choosing you Sayuri. I think you've more then earned a shot. And I want the honor of fighting you one on one, here in your homeland. WHat do you say, Sayuri?[/font]
The crowd begins to chant Sayuri's name as they await her arrival.
