As the PPV rolls on, the fans are treated to the appearance of "The Straight Edge Superstar" Kris Cade. As his music blares over the PA, he walks down the ramp, slapping five with fans along the way. He rolls into the ring and calls for a mic. Before speaking, he stands in the middle of the ring with the Pure Title over his shoulder, reveling in the adoration of the fans.
Man, it feels GREAT to be back in Philly. I know most of you already knew of me long before I even stepped in the XWA. But let me give the folks watching at home a little history lesson about Kris Cade. I got my start in wrestling 3 years ago right here in Philly. A company called CZW, Combat Zone Wrestling. A company built in tradition of the last wrestling company that put Philly on the map. I took my knocks, and learned my lessons from guys like Justice Pain and Brain Damage. Guys who I know still compete for the love of the sport. Guys who this day I respect. It's because of them, and every other guy around the country, even around the WORLD looking to get that one big break that I do what I do. To let them all know that the chance can come when you least expect it. As long as you stay on your game, and stay healthy, ANYTHING is possible.
As the cheers continues, so does Kris.
Last week, I defended this title against another guy I have nothing but respect for, Bryan Hanzell. Bryan, I told you after the match, and it still holds true, that working with you was a joy and an honor. And I look forward to the next time I get to step in the ring with you. But tonight, this is about making a statement. Since I came to XWA and became Pure champ, I've face a number of men who I've gain tons of experience against. Guys like Jimmy Ames, King, Austin Harris, And Ryan Zlabe. Guys who cross the spectrum in terms of talent. I've won my fair share of battles, I've lost my fair share, but I have no regrets in any of them. Because in the end, it only makes ME a better competitor. The wins and the losses. The ups and down. So tonight, I'm out here for one reason, and one reason alone. I'm a fighting champion. I'm a fighting competitor period. And I don't believe in taking nights off, especially a night where I get to compete in front of some of the best damn wrestling fans in the world!
A loud "Cade" chant erupts from the crowd.
Soany man, woman or beast backstage who's up for a fight, come on down. Because I'm putting the PURE TITLE on the line in an open challenge. Me and someone...ANYONE. One on one...TONIGHT.
Kris lowers his mic, awaiting a response from his possible challenger.
