New York City- May 1, 2007. One Penn Plaza, corporate HQ of the Xtraordinary Wrestling Association. Stepping out a cab, Kevin Rush looks up at the building. It looks just like any other in this city from the outside, but on the inside awaited his future. He enters to yet another typical sight, that of people roaming the lobby, doing whatever it is that they have came or have been hired to do. There's talking, there's joking, but it the end this place is symbolic of the city itself...if you stand still, you'll be left behind.
Kevin walks over to the receptionist desk and asks her a question.
Hi there, I have an interview today with the President? The name is Kevin Rush.
With a smile, she checks the schedule to confirm and then sends him on his way to the top floor of the building. A tall building, but certainly a short ride as this elevator was moving so fast he got that funny feeling in his ears. The door slides open and then down a long hall awaits another door. Kevin makes his way to it and knocks.

He steps into the office, of course taking a brief look around the place, very stylishly set up it was. Then he locks eyes with the woman who is in charge of it all.
Hello, Ms. Blackheart. I spoke briefly to one of your recruiters days ago about meeting with you. My name is Kevin Rush.
Walking over to the desk he reaches out his hand to her.
I'd like to become a part of the XWA.

She stands out of courtesy to accept Kevin's handshake before returning to her seat.
Please, have a seat Mr. Rush. I had spoken to that scout a few days earlier...he seems to be quite impressed with your ability. Ability, as I told him though will only get you but so far. It's dedication and commitment that sets the good ones apart from the great ones. So tell me, what exactly is your background in this business...or your interest in it?

Accepting her offer, Kevin takes a seat in the chair not too far from her desk. He clears his throat before answering her question.
Well Ms. Blackheart, I've been wrestling in Japan for the past three years. Various tournaments and Puroresu leagues. It's very different from an actual federation, a lot more of dog eat dog frame of mind. There's a lot of people there who are pretty dangerous in the ring, lots of shooters, but I've held my own against them and I'm pretty confident I can against the competition here.

Well I can certainly appreciate the confident Mr. Rush...but I get the feeling that you think this is going to be a cake-walk. There are many, many others here who are as good or maybe even better than anyone or anything that you've faced in Japan, and believe me, I'm very familiar with the Puro leagues over there, I know the deal. The XWA is as close to that kind of mentality as you'll find in the West. This is more than just wrestling here Mr. Rush, it's combat. That's why we refer to them as "Combatants", understand?

Kevin sits up in his chair an inch or so.
Yes, of course Ms. Blackheart. That's the reason why I chose to come here. I put out feelers to other places in the country and even up north, but this is the place that suits me. I was told at length about the competitive nature of the XWA. That's what turned me onto it, other places are more about showmanship, this place seems to be much more focussed on the competitive aspects of the business. I can be a great fit if given the opportunity.
I'm not here to be the savior or the so-called next big thing. I'll take my bumps and work my way into the spots I want to be in just like anyone else here. I'm confident that both you and your fans will be satisfied with what it is that I can do for the XWA, in the ring and out.

Leaning back in her seat, Carmella can't help but be somewhat impressed by his answer. This Kevin Rush seemed to be a genuine "Gentleman Warrior"...a rare thing in this business at least in western hemisphere.
It will be interesting to see how you can fair against certain people here. You so realize that the XWA does in fact have our share of "showy" and "talkative" types. It will be entertaining to see how you adapt to the unique environment we have here.
She reaches into her desk and pulls out an XWA Contract, sliding it across her desk to him.
Take a look at the details of it and sign on the dotted line when you're ready.

Giving the contract a once over, he pulls a pen from his inside pocket and proceeds to sign his name. As he does so he replies...
Oh, I'm ready Ms. Blackheart.
Standing up from his seat he hands the contract back to her.
More than ready to take whatever is thrown at me, and ask for seconds. Thank you so much for this opportunity.
Kevin extends his hand to his new boss once more.

Once more she shakes his hand, smiling slightly at his enthusiasm.
You're welcome, Mr. Rush. Now seize that opportunity and use it for all it's worth, and I promise that you'll be as or even more successful here than anywhere else you have been, or could have been. Welcome to the XWA.
