In the lobby of American Airlines Arena, the media have all gathered for a world championship press conference. An XWA official makes some statements about the PPV Sunday, and introduces the challenger, Ryan Fierhart. He steps up to the podium and begins to speak.
This sunday night is going to be the biggest match of my career. I've been wrestling professionally 4 years, but I've wrestled all my life. This mtach coming up is my 1st ever world title oppurtunity, and most certainly not my last. I may have missed out on my chance to be in the NOC finals by losing to my brother, but thanks in part to the marketing genius of our GM, I find myself in a great situation. Of course...to be the champ, I have to beat the champ. And that's Scott O'Dell. We've had our differences since day one here in XWA, and I have no doubt that our careers are going to be measured against each other. The same way Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage was in the 80's. The same way HHH and The Rock was in the 90's. While I do respect O'Dell's in ring ability, As a man...I don't. This business is chock full of cocky, erogant, self absorbed dimwits, but O'Dell is the WORST kind. He's the kind that sadly can back up his talk. That only inflates his head even more. The rest of the roster may not like him, just as I don't. But he's champ for a reason. He gets it done when the bell rings, and the way I was raised, that's the measure of a wrestler. Not the kool promos. Not the sleek outfits. Not the arm candy you come to the ring with, and DEFINATELY not touting yourself as being the best thing since sliced bread. So this Sunday, in a 15 foot high steel cage, I'm going to prove not only to O'Dell, but to the rest of the roster, and to the WORLD that Ryan Fierhart has come to play, and he's come to be the NEXT XWA world champion.
A few of the reporters and spectators prepare to aks Ryan more questions when...
