77 West 55th Street, New York City...
The residence of Ashley Diamond. She opted to spend the week off away from XWA. Away from the media frenzy of being the reigning XWA Diamond Champion. She'd have much rather spent this time off with Ryan Fierhart, but she knew he was off to California. The incident at his family's gym. Ashley envied Ryan in that regard. He was so close to his family. They were woven together like fine silk these days. Ashley's family was anything but. A father who left when she was only 7. A mother in and out of rehab. An estranged older brother whom she hadn't seen in almost 5 years. He family life was nothing to write home about. But in this time, where she was enjoying so much success, it hurt her heart that her family was nowhere to be found. Her brother, a wrestler as well, lost faith in his ability after losing a crucial match. He was the reason she even started. But he fell into a bout of depression, vowing never to wrestle again. She so wanted to share this with him, but she knew it was a mere pipe dream.
She sits in her living room, the XWA Diamond Title rested on her lap. She can only stare at it and wonder how things have been since winning it back in February. Before she joined XWA, she was just a regular girl looking to make a name in a business full of superstars. The Fierharts, Hunters, and Storms of the industry. Now, she sits atop the heap. Regarded the best young talent in female wrestling bar none. She wants to think she's just lucky. That anyone could have done it. That would make things so much easier. But she knows that day by day, week by week, show by show, her skill improves. With every match she becomes a little wiser. A little better. And in that, she's held in even high regard. Even if she were to lose the title, she'd still be held on a pedestal. Was that something she wanted? Perhaps it was just jitters. Or perhaps it wasn't. She didn't get the chance to think of it.

Hello?
Ms. Diamond, this is Jake Stone of XWA Corperate. I hope I'm not disturbing you.
No, not at all. What's up?
Well, We're having a special promotional event this Saturday in San Fransisco. As you know, we're traveling to Japan for the PPV, and we'd like to have you make an appearance at the Cow Palace before the show. A meet and greet with the fans. Are you available?
Of course.
Excellent. You need not worry about booking a flight, I'll make all the arrangements personally. I'll have a messenger stop by tomorrow to drop your tickets off.
No need. I'll come by the office and get them. Get me an afternoon flight.
Very well. Have a good evening, Ms. Diamond.
Thanks.
Just like that, it was back to business. Perhaps this was a good thing. Being amongst people may distract her from the thoughts racing through her mind. She sets the title beside her on the couch and stands, taking a long stretch. She makes her way to the bedroom to begin packing for tomorrow's flight...
