en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_morrison www.wwe.com/shows/ecw/superstars/johnmorrison/First of all, whoever watched ECW will know what happened, but for those who didn't Johnny Nitro is now John Morrison. Look at the similarities between Jim Morrison (R.I.P) and John Morrison. Look alike? That's what I thought..but..now for the conspiracy! Jim Morrison died at 27, and Johnny Nitro became John Morrison at 27. To further the conspiracy...maybe Nitro is Jim Morrison reincarnated!? But then again, after watching Nitro's promo on ECW, I doubt it. Nobody impersonates Jim Morrison and lives damn it! But...since Nitro is now Morrison..that must mean...Vince McMahon is a Doors fan! *insert dramatic music.*

The Doors PWN...nuff said.
Them and Nirvana get such a bad wrap from everyone, even though without them you wouldn't have any of todays music. They came out in the times of hair metal and blew everyones minds. They opened doors for My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, Disturbed...any new band that you like that has a metal, rock or punk tone...is here thanks to namely those two.

I just mention FOB and MCR because Kevin seems like the generic scene kid that would listen to them diehard...and then say he hates them when they fade away.

I really think you should rethink the "any new band that you like that has a metal, rock or punk tone...is here thanks to namely those two." statement. I can think of a ton of newer bands that would still be around if Jim Morrison never picked up a pen and wrote, or if Kurt never picked up a heroin needle and a guitar. Not to say I don't listen to them, but I personally don't think they aren't as awesome as everyone thinks they are.

Loves how this turned into a rock discussion. The genre is a many faceted being with heavy influence from many sources. To say one band or two is the inspriation for current bands in kinda vauge...I'm sure if you asked band members who they were influenced by, you'd probably get either of these two-and about 20 others. Let's say in terms of hip-hop...one could say if it wasn't for those like Afrika Bambataa and Grandmaster Flash there's be no hip-hop today...cuz that's the truth. Hip-Hop actually has a proper state of origin. Rock for the most part doesn't...so again, saying two bands influenced modern acts is vauge. It's probably more like 200 bands actually. 2 cents. Cash it and get a...well...you can't get anything for 2 cents can you?

Most new metal/alternative and old metal/alternative bands credit Nirvana, or Kurt Cobain in particular for inspiration and helping shape their musical career or atleast inspiring them to get into a musical career.
I'm the man who will defend Kurt Cobain till the day I die because I, unlike many others and all the haters, actually paid attention to his every word, every lyric, every song. I have the biographies, ALL OF THEM. The journal entries, ALL OF THEM and any/everything to do with him as a person and rock star. I've been to Seattle, Aberdeen to be specific and even Olympia to do a research project on him.
Been a fan since day 1, got all the songs that have been released, re-dubbed and transfered from tape to digital. Own the cd's, even singles and the video of their very first performance from the time they took the stage till they left thanks to a very close personal friend who made a copy for me.
Insult ANYONE ELSE in this world and I'll shake it off, but insult Kurt Cobain and I take personal offense to it. Because I know, if it wasn't for him, his lyrics, his words and music. I would NOT be anywhere near the man I am today. It got me through ALOT of pain in my early teen years (12+) still to this day I can slap on a few songs and even my worst enemies in this life seem like dirt on my shoulder, it can be brushed off.
THAT is the power HE had over MANY people. Hundreds of thousands if not MILLIONS.
No other rocker aside from Jim Morrison, is as BIG a star, influence or even close to being as worshipped as Kurt Cobain.
plus... Jonny Nitro is a good talent who needs abit more shaping.. conspiracy maybe..but aslong as it gets people talking/watching, the job is done.

Jim Morrison was the only guy to whip it out and whack off on stage. Kudos.
